Got out and enjoyed a relaxed chase of Canadian National's L536 transfer from Glenn Yard to Kirk Yard via some of Chicago's finest neighborhoods.
Here the train is seen rolling over the diamonds with BNSF's entrance to Corwith Yard as they pass by a vintage GM&O cantilever still standing tall.

DB Cargo 189 042 + 189 036 on the Betuweroute passes Molenweg in Hardinxveld-Giessendam with an empty iron ore train, consisting of 6-axle Falrrs hoppers, probably GM 49710 (Dillingen Hochofen Hütte - Rotterdam-Maasvlakte), on July 16, 2018, 15:37.
Louise and my late Uncle Erling (and Karen Blixen btw) was born on the same date (April, 17th) and Louise certainly takes after him when it comes to being the family joker:

It's around a year since all but one (retained as shunter at Whyalla) of the venerable GM class locos were placed into storage in South Australia.
In the mid 1990s GM42/GM43 were a unique pair for several years being the only two members of the class temporarily converted to operate on broad gauge (5'3"). In the last days of GM operation they were frequently paired on local grain trains.
Genesee & Wyoming Australia 'bulldogs' GM42/GM43 roll a short rake of 31 hoppers along between Bowmans and Kallora with 4174 Snowtown grain on 3 February 2015.

Yes, I know this is listed elsewhere as being with Swan; Chadderton, but as at the date of the photo both the legal lettering and 'O' disc carried referred to Travel Master, which these days may be controlled by Swans, but is clearly still a separate operating entity.

Made the pilgrimage back to the spot where I attended my first night photography workshop all those years back. I didn't spend as much time with the bus as I have in the past...I didn't need to. I've gotten so many shots of this old GM that I have trouble finding something new sometimes. Still, I did employ the same color scheme as I have in the past (red in the front and green in the back.) I've tried other combos before, but I like this one best.
Three shot composite. Lit with the Protomachine LED 2. Subtle lighting down the camera facing side of the bus. This was part of a "selfie" composition that I'm currently processing. That'll be coming soon.
