Saturday January 7th 2012 marks EXACTLY 10 years since the last Leyland Atlanteans ran in revenue earning service in Greater Manchester. On the day preserved Atlantean 4622 will be leaving Bolton, Blackhorse Street at 10.00 on the 28 route and then will be retracing 8763s last journey, the 10.56 39 service from Piccadilly to Leigh Bus Station, arriving at approx 12.00, with the buses then running dead to, and past the site of the old Crook Street depot in Bolton before undertaking 1 trip on the 506/7 circular (4740s last journey) and one final early afternoon journey on the 519 Johnston Fold service (4721s last ever journey) before final photos on Moor Lane (the road). 12.00 Run "Private" to Crook Street and round to Moor Lane.
13.00 506 route to Harwood (circular)
13.45 519 route to Johnson Fold.
Return to Moor Lane for 14.30.
Now exactly as per "10 Years On" in August, all the gremlins are hard at work.
8508 is not taxed and cannot be retaxed in time. It therefore will be unable to participate.
8763 has a charging fault which is proving troublesome to locate. All the stops are being pulled out, but no promises. Last news is that its doubtfull if 8763 will be there. :+(
4622 has decided to break its radiator mountings. A replacement radiator awaits fitting, if it can be moved into works and time taken off work to fit it. Again all the stops are being pulled out, but no promises.
4622 now has its new radiator, Im just about to climb in the barff and scrape off the tons of thick black grease!!
So once again, Saturday 7th Jan 2012 is ON!!! See you there.

Es realmente difícil de ver mercancías tirados por 310 o 311 fuera de zonas de maniobras. Por suerte hoy ha sonado la flauta, y unas cuantas veces, "gracias" a una Bitrac inútil, teniendo que recurrir a un guardacostas por parte de Comsa.
Tras dejar las tolvas de cereal, en principio tenía que regresar aislado. Al final ha cogido las cisternas de cloruro de vinilo que llegaron anoche desde la frontera para llevarlas hasta Martorell. Un gran saludo para el maquinista!

La 319.332 en la puerta del taller de Villaverde a la espera de que un nuevo dia empiece y con el su entrada al hospital ferroviario de Villaverde, durante un largo tiempo, todos sus componentes dañados seran reparados y puestos a punto para seguir dandolo todo al frente de composiciones de viajeros y si se tercia de mercancias, aunque no se yo si esta a llegado a hacer mucho mas por españa ya que creo que es una candidata a viajar a Argentina

BNSF GP39E 2550, built as ATSF GP30 1205 in April 1962, idles under a fiery sunset at BNSF Murray Yard; as can be seen reflecting off of the chrome grille on a ratty 1994-1996 Chevrolet S10. Even though the shiny EMD GP39E is over 30 decades older than this 2nd gen Chevrolet S10, these two machines are both products of General Motors.

NS 3479 (Ex BN) Shoves back into one of GM’s unloaded/loading areas, these autoracks will be getting loaded. We did get permission to go up on the pedestrian bridge in the yard!!!
This was my first subject of the night and my first attempt at light painting in the workshop. I love old buses and this one has some great character.
I also got chased down by a curious little mouse while light painting under the bus.

I'm not trying to be a copycat, since I had a B&W F-unit shot teed up for tonight. Unlike Mr. Turley's excellent Shark picture, this image isn't pure B&W but is a Photoshop conversion of a Kodachrome slide on a crappy day.

Got out and enjoyed a relaxed chase of Canadian National's L536 transfer from Glenn Yard to Kirk Yard via some of Chicago's finest neighborhoods.
Here the train is seen rolling over the diamonds with BNSF's entrance to Corwith Yard as they pass by a vintage GM&O cantilever still standing tall.

DB Cargo 189 042 + 189 036 on the Betuweroute passes Molenweg in Hardinxveld-Giessendam with an empty iron ore train, consisting of 6-axle Falrrs hoppers, probably GM 49710 (Dillingen Hochofen Hütte - Rotterdam-Maasvlakte), on July 16, 2018, 15:37.
Louise and my late Uncle Erling (and Karen Blixen btw) was born on the same date (April, 17th) and Louise certainly takes after him when it comes to being the family joker:
