This is a glowing reminder of the pleasant, warm sunny days of summer on Mission Point, near Traverse City, Michigan.
Cherries are still iconic in this area of Northwest Michigan, though many of the cherry orchards have been replaced by vinyards.

I love the fact that I live next door to one of the United States most resilient cities, Detroit, Michigan, also known as the ‘Motor City’. Detroit and Windsor, Ontario are forever linked historically, industrially and culturally. Detroit has had some bad times over the last couple of decades, but always has been a vibrant, exciting part of my life. After all it is the home of ‘Motown’
Im Moment kann ich noch zwei Interessen miteinander verbinden. Zum einen suche ich nach Speisepilzen und zum anderen gehe ich meiner Leidenschaft als Fotograf nach. Auch hier sind es Schirme, die eine dünne Kappe haben und daher leicht zu beleuchten sind.
At the moment I can still combine two interests. On the one hand, I look for edible mushrooms and on the other, I pursue my passion as a photographer. Here again it's umbrellas that have a thin cap and are therefore easy to light.
Once upon a time this was a real bulb, it is now empty and was painted on with flowers and the words "Frohe Ostern". It has a hole in the bottom and I stuffed tiny fairy lights through it to light the bulb from within.
I love color. It must submit to me. And I love art. I kneel before it, and it must become mine. Everything around me glows with passion. Every day reveals a new red flower, glowing, scarlet red. Everyone around me carries them. Some wear them quietly hidden in their hearts. And they are like poppies just opening, of which one can see only here and there a hint of red petal peeking out from the green bud.
Ich liebe Farbe. Sie muss sich mir unterordnen. Und ich liebe die Kunst. Ich knie vor ihr nieder, und sie muss mein werden. Alles um mich herum leuchtet vor Leidenschaft. Jeder Tag offenbart eine neue rote Blume, glühend, scharlachrot. Jeder um mich herum trägt sie. Manche tragen sie still und verborgen in ihrem Herzen. Und sie sind wie Mohnblumen, die sich gerade öffnen, von denen man nur hier und da einen Hauch eines roten Blütenblattes aus der grünen Knospe herausschauen sieht.
