Early summer glow at dawn on the Zambezi...off season in Zimbabwe. This is not the best time to visit this part of Africa, but we had rain last evening and clouds this morning. More rain is in the forecast. But the clouds add a nice texture and the sunrise creates a wonderful glow.

The New York Botanical Garden - one of the installations in their "Glow" light show seen during the day
This really isn't a glow worm, but in the morning light this tiny caterpillar sure looked like it was glowing! I spotted it on a stalk of my potted thyme, and even though I'm afraid of insects and spiders I managed to place the pot where the sunlight made the caterpillar appear luminescent.
This is my first creepy crawly shot ever.

Smile on Saturday's theme is "Let it Glow" this week and because I wasn't able to get out to take photos I searched for something I'd taken earlier but not posted on Flickr.
This Bird of Paradise shows mainly the upright orange petals but to my mind, no flower seems to grab the sun the way Bird of Paradise does; so I always take WAY too many photos of them.
I really have no idea what kind of tree is bearing these odd little fruits that have become translucent and glow in the afternoon sun. I noticed them last week when I did photos with Kris & Chad. They were a little more dried this week compared to last.

This is an image of a gold birthday candle, in front of a glittered black card. These candles are 2.75 inches long, so one was cut down to 1 inch, (top section) so that the flame and background is within the group limits.

Afternoon Glow
This is dedicated to my dear friend Kim. She's someone I have known since childhood and always admired. We've reconnected over the past weeks and are supporting each other with our training (cycling, running, etc). I looked up to her in school, for she was a fantastic athlete and possessed the confidence I never had. She played sports, I did not. Something I regret to this very day. I am really glad to have her in my life and look forward to building our friendship. She's been following me here and looking at my work as well. Hi Luby!
I will be busy this week and will try to get to your streams best I can. I'm traveling next weekend and things will be tight (work, training, oldest kid with me this week, YIP, packing).

Vibrant spring glow around a shapely Scots Pine beside a farm track winding it's way down to the Meon Valley with Park Hill in the distance.

Moments before sunset, MC 2026 (ex-NH FL9M) passes through Sagamore with the Cape Cod Dinner Train. The 1935-built Sagamore road bridge is seen silhouetted in the background.
I was looking for some nice sunrise pictures and had the chance to see this morning glow of some low hanging rain shower clouds lit by the 'before sunrise sunlight'. It lasted just for a minute or two and then it was gone. The sunrise itself afterwards was rather nothing special at all.
