This was my first time attending and attempting fireworks at Global Fest, which is weird, since I've lived in Calgary for 16 years. It was hard to choose a favourite, but I did like the little starbursts on this one. I learned a bit and made a few notes for going to Global Fest in the future!

Another one of my global abstract circular edits of a summertime beach in the small town of Borth, Wales.
Who doesn't love delicious buttery corn? ... except, it is January so our local supply is pretty much depleted. But never fear - if you stop at the Dollar Store you can purchase vacuum sealed packages of pre-cooked corn from Thailand for only $2!!! 1 minute (or so the package says) in the microwave and it's ready to eat! So I sampled my photo prop ... yuck! ... tasteless !!! I'll stick with the corn that's grown locally even if it means waiting until next fall. (Although according to the package best-before date of October 2016, this corn could still be around then!)
Sarah's cousin who emigrated to Australia 30 years ago. He rode across Europe starting from the east coast of Russia a couple of years ago and decided to ride his bike from Vancouver BC to Montreal down the east coast to Houston and up the west coast. So he had his bike shipped to Canada, got on the plane, and rode his bike clear across Canada and down to our place in DC. This morning he got back on his bike (a BMW) and hit the road again is on his way to Texas. A true free spirit and my hero!!!
A pair of Union Pacific's four-axle EMDs were shuffling some intermodal cars around Global III west of Rochelle in 2008.
Due to UP's implementation of Precision Scheduled Railroading, Union Pacific has shuttered this once-busy facility and the trains no longer call on Global III.
This has to be the most impressive sandcastle i have ever seen!! It even stayed standing in flood conditions in Stratford!
Not even wearing any suncream, unbelievable...
Jaisalmer’s unique fort is a living urban centre, with about 3000 people residing within its walls. It’s honeycombed with narrow, winding lanes, lined with houses and temples – along with a large number of handicraft shops, guesthouses and restaurants.
