Bali Memorial – Frangipani Girl

At the time of taking this photo, I didn’t understand the tragic significance of this mural. Upon subsequently researching it, I discovered that it was in fact a memorial.
More than 200 people, including 88 Australians, were killed in the bomb attack at the Sari Club, Kuta Beach Bali, on 12 October 2002. One victim was Bondi local, 15 year old Chloe Byron, on holiday in Bali with her family. Such a tragic event.

Leica M240 + Leica Macro-Elmar-M 90mm f4 ..and handheld 1/25 (I was dragging the shutter to try to use the limited window light we had but I think by this stage had stopped down to f5.6 to reduce the flash intensity which was now the dominant light source)
