Beginning to notice these gentle creatures coloring the breeze above the flowers. Quiet, gentle and unassuming, they go about their business daily.

As our summer begins to fade, we will be blessed with many more circling the flower beds and gardens!

He was the Gentle Giant,

His voice was like soft thunder.

His Hands, strong enough to lift up the fallen,

Yet gentle enough to hold the smallest child.

He was the Gentle Giant,

His children were yours and mine.

He towered over them with great height,

And cast a shadow of deep love.

He was the Gentle Giant,

His face chiseled from stone,

His outward appearance intimidating,

But his heart was molded from pure gold.

He was the Gentle Giant,

And sometimes giants fall,

But in his wake he left

Waves of love to last for generations.

"The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."

Thinking about YOU!

Glad YOU stopped by.. :-)

Giants come in all shapes and forms, Simba is one of those gentle giants who doesn't know his own strength yet, but is a loving companion all the same, and a great dog to photograph !!

The banks of a creek showing ice on a very cold day.

Other than obviously looking different and having a mane, male lions differ so much from the lionesses and I guess a lot of that is because of the roles each play within the pride.

Males tend to be incredibly possessive and if they believe something is theirs they will guard it and if anyone even thinks of looking at it he will change their mind pretty quickly.

Once though he is finished with it or has had enough, he will quietly walk away allowing anyone to have it.

At other times though they can be so surprisingly gentle.

There is a farm on Long Island that has these beautiful and gentle Highland cattle...

This big boy has been around for close to 20 years...

sadly, almost at the end of his life span...

Highland Cattle have a long life span of around 20 years. They can easily sustain cold winters with their double coat of hair, and they guard themselves against predators using their horns. As they always move in a group, predators cannot attack them quickly.

Some of the more gentle rolling hills of the South Downs in West Sussex.

It's a lovely sunny day today so I'll be off volunteering as usual. The cold sunny spell is over now and we are in changeable weather. Gentle is by Low, and is fine for this sunny shot of Southerndown Cliffs.
