Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla, gorilla, gorilla) named "Winston". Born in 1972, this silverback is the leader of San Diego Zoo Safari Park's gorilla troop. Three of Winston's children: Monroe, Joanne, and Leslie currently live in this large extended family.
Conservation status: Critically Endangered
