Milky Way over Mount Bromo, East Java, Indonesia.

This is a different composition than the previous one I posted recently. It was a portrait format.

This one is a Vertical Panorama, shot in landscape mode. The top part (sky and Milky Way) is made from 9 exposures shot at ISO 16,000 f/4 15s and a dark frame, all of them stacked with Sequator, which does an amazing job removing the noise an enhancing the details.

The bottom part (landscape) is a single exposure shot at ISO 3200 f/4 146s.

Hey everyone! I´m sorry for the lack of content as of lately. I haven´t had to much time to build anything recently. I have a lot of ideas for things to build though, but sadly I just can´t come to realize them. 😔 That being said, I am working on a MOC for a collab! So stay tuned for that. It´s set to release next month! There also is a Fallen Order WIP laying around here, where I´ve been working on the past like year or so from time to time. Nothing to big. I plan on finishing that as well, though again, because of the lack of time to build I haven´t made to much progress on that in a while. In the meantime, here is a Figbarf I made yesterday. I´ve been getting a lot of inspiration from Andor in recent weeks, but I figure you already guessed that by the look of these figs. 😄

Are you guys enjoying Andor? I love the show! Slow, but I don´t really mind that at all.

For the people going to Kloss22 in Norway at the end of the month or to Bricking Bavaria mid next month, I´m displaying there with the RebelLUG/Brickzlab people!

See you!

Thinking about it - maybe not . But then again as the report on the news said , it is a special day today , Strauss was born 200 years ago and the ESA is 50 years old today . As Sky News reported --

A piece of classical music is to be played into space to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of its composer and the 50th year of the European Space Agency (ESA).

The Blue Danube, by Johann Strauss, will be beamed into the cosmos as it's performed by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra on 31 May, and livestreamed with free public screenings in Vienna, Madrid, and New York.

To avoid any technical issues, a pre-recorded version from the orchestra's rehearsal on the day before will be played out, while a live performance provides the accompaniment.

The music, which famously featured in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey, will pass the moon in just 1.5 seconds.

Starting from the ESA's big antenna dish in Spain, part of the agency's deep-space network, it will pass Mars in 4.5 minutes, Jupiter in 37 minutes and go past Neptune in four hours.

If all goes to plan, NASA's Voyager 1, the world's most distant spacecraft, will be reached within 23 hours, when the signals will be more than 15 billion miles in interstellar space.

Tourism officials in Vienna, where Strauss was born in October 1825, said broadcasting "the most famous of all waltzes" into space corrects the "cosmic mistake" of his music being left out of previous interstellar broadcasts.

Strauss was overlooked almost 50 years ago, when the Voyager Golden Records were played out on gold-plated copper phonograph records installed in NASA's Voyagers 1 and 2.

The records contain sounds and images of Earth as well as 90 minutes of music. The late astronomer Carl Sagan led the committee that chose works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Stravinsky, along with modern and Indigenous selections.

Deepscapes has become a go to challenge for me and this one is a clear example.

Some info about this image:

1. Everything you see was acquired at 400mm, the same tripod position and night but at different times.

2. First I did the tracked deepsky sesh of RHO in a horizontal position at 1:33am and then did the long exposure of the foreground in a vertical position at 3:33am, I only changed the ballhead direction a bit and turned off the tracker to get the mountain.

3.What makes even more sense in this image is that Rho Ophiuchi rises almost precisely at this alignment from this location with a 95% accuracy after my research watching my own timelapses from this same spot so I'm pretty much on point here.

4. I rotated the Rho Ophiuchi image after processing to match the vertical foreground shot and decided to have Antares up in the right part of the composition so it was rotated 90° to the left, this made the final image very long in the vertical direction, almost like a Panorama.

I do love messing around with gorse, well not literally of course - far too spikey 😂 I recently treated myself to a refurbished Sony cyber-shot camera. It's got a decent zoom & macro shots are turning out OK. Trying to wean myself off my iPhone camera. Original image slid a little with Topaz Studio 2 "Galactic" filter HSS!

There's an old saying, "when gorse is out of blossom, kissing's out of fashion". Yet again I am endeavouring to photograph Irish gorse in flower every month of the year. No luck in previous years, but other members of my group Gorgeous Golden Gorse have been successful in this quest. New members are very welcome.

We have 2 species of gorse in Ireland - Ulex europaeus (Common gorse) which flowers in hedgerows from late autumn through to late spring, generally tailing off in June, and Ulex gallii (Western or dwarf gorse) which typically flowers in late summer, alongside heather, on mountainsides. That will be my next challenge, finding Ulex gallii in flower in July.

Several people commented on the shadows in my first Mogumber shot.

This was the first shot that night that made me realise I was onto a winner, and those shadows had a lot to do with it.

Last night I went to Lighthouse beach, Kingswear to photograph the milky way. Battling the light pollution from Dartmouth castle on the opposite bank of the river was a challenge but I'm pleased with how this came out.

It's a blended shot of a tracked sky and long exposure foreground

This image shows our own galaxy: the milky way and our two small satellite galaxies: The Magellan clouds.

The Small Magellan Cloud is at the top left and the Large Magellan Cloud at the bottom left.

The Image also shows scorpius, the Lagoon and Trifid Nebulas, the galactic center at Sagitarius and many globular and open clusters.

This galactic arch was captured at Vrahonas abandoned village over Sivota (Thesprotia - Greece ). Vrahonas is situated at an ideal position high and close to the stars.

Zodiacal light and the winter band of the Milky Way creates an almost perfect right triangle over this desert ghost town.

A few things to point out in this vertical panorama, is the obvious beam of light on the left of the frame known as Zodiacal light. The reddish smudge (upper mid left) is the California Nebula, and peeking out from behind the jail is the Andromeda Galaxy. You can also see a couple of the other buildings still standing near the base of the mountain.

Well i have to say editing this has been a real challenge. pretty pleased with it. I had an idea in my head of how it would look and its not far off. what a great location to spend the evening with some fellow astrophotographers #jodrellbank #skyatnight #astro

If you look in the centre and just down to the right you will see the Galactic Kiwi. Its a New Zealand thing...Look for the head and beak looking left and the rest will appear. Once you see it you can't unsee it...haha.

Was just practicing my image blending system for noise reduction. Works a treat.

A few days ago I showed you the classic photo of this place, today I bring something different coming from my imagination, or said in a freak photographic way, a spacetime blending :)
