First look at the frozen bubbles on Abraham Lake. Had seen many photos of them before and was great to finally see them first hand.

I'm officially back into Star Wars. I'm blowing the dust off of my droids and reassembling the Republic. I also got this new fig from CAC :)

Star testing the Viltrox 13mm f1.4 on my Fuji X-S10. Some tiny aberrations can still be seen despite stopping down to f1.8. But mean stacking alignment might have also played a role in the distorted stars

Reedit of this set from 2020.

The night sky and the Milky Way from Killcare Beach on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia.

An old shot from 2018 reworked , our Galactic core shot from far western NSW Australia .

Well I’m not much for Astro photography but when a dark moon aligns with perfectly clear skies, you make the drive. This was 3 hours from Vancouver at Cascade lookout in Manning Park. Have a great week. Kris…

An early Starship utilizes its ray shield in defense of an incoming force of radiation...or more likely it's a...nah, I'll stick with the Starship thing. Have a great Sunday friends. Pentax...out there somewhere.

The lines and colors upon the blank canvas evolved into an approximate image from my mind. Or was it the other way around?

Minerals dried into a depression in a piece of sandstone. Kinda looks like looking through a window in an asteroid at the galactic core.

Visitors to our atmosphere...

This is the famous glacial erratic near Bumpass Hell in Lassen Volcanic NP.

In late August MW is positioned perfectly behind this interesting boulder and I therefore could not resit to capture it during my roadtrip following the August solar eclipse.

While Lassens skies are mostly very dark, the southwesterly direction is plagued be severe light pollution from the Sacramento area, producing the yellow glow on the horizon that completely eats up the stars.

Finally, here it is. My version of the Galaxy Explorer 928!

Thanks to everyone who kept asking me if it was finished; I was trying to get it on Lego Ideas but it was not accepted as it was classed as bringing back an old Lego theme (even though there are several other Ideas which are obviously a version of old Lego Space sets and in classic space colours).

I will just have to think up something else more original!

Westfield Überseequartier Hamburg,

This image was taken at Lake Yellowstone. I discoverd the sandbar in the afternoon and thought it might line up nicely with Milky Way.

Unfortunately I had only about 30 minutes between astronomical dusk and moonrise. Therefore, I did not have time to experiment.

On the other hand I was quite glad when I could pack my stuff and leave at moonrise. During my visit in the afternoon I saw a lot of wildlife in the area and it was eerie to be alone out there in the middle of the night...

Going through some older shots, this was shot up in Waiwera back in April 2014.

The night sky with Milky Way at Broke in the Hunter Region, NSW, Australia.

The Galactic Kiwi rising above Christchurch. The Kiwi is kind of hidden in the core of the milky way. I have highlighted the area.

My first Milky Way image of the year. I had this shot in mind for a little while now and finally the clouds cleared for me. Taken from the top of Porters Pass in a chilly 3°C. I wasn't sure how bright Christchurch would be from that distance at 90 km away. I have my answer. It is bright, which in part was maybe due to some low cloud above the city.

Sony A7RV, Sony 16-35 mm lens, Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i tracker.

Foreground shot at 1 am: Single image, 35 mm, 10 min, f/4, ISO 3200. While the camera was recording, I jumped in my car and drove down the hill and back up to do the light painting.

Sky shot at 1:50 am: 2-image vertical pano, 16 mm, 120 s, f/2.8, ISO ISO 800.

Pre-processed in DxO PhotoLab. Blended and final processing using Affinity Photo.

A Milky Way panorama, over the "Lefkopodas" (The White Footed One) peak, in Korthio, Andros Island, Greece.

This peak is named after the snow piling up at its foot, during winter snowstorms.

Galactic Core rising above the Church of the Good Shepherd with some nice auroral activity to the side. After this shot I rushed of to the cultural artwork rest area to capture the Aurora in all it's glory.
