Dr. Tim Storm (Hot Toys Stormshadow) is the head of the Interdisciplinary Medicine program at Johns Hopkins. He is Korean-American, and smart as all-get-out. It doesn't hurt that he's handsome, too!
The 1983 G.I. Joe Flacon Glider came with Grunt version 2, affectionately known as "Tan Grunt" as its pilot.
These are not the 1983 G.I. Joe gliders. Sharp eyed fans will notice the darker green used in the Joe glider.
These beautiful reproductions are from Screamin' Ehmann Customs. The first 100 to roll out were in individual boxes. I would have preferred those but they sold out in minuets. By the time I found out about these, even this second wave of 100 pieces sold out. The second wave was released for Christmas, combined in a single box. I'm assuming to keep shipping costs down. Regardless, I am extremely happy to have grabbed what I believe to be the last available set. This set was also sold out but it seems that one buyer did not come through with payment and this gem was put up on their Ebay page. I did not waste a second. Collectors are already flipping these for a few hundred a pop. Actual vintage MiB gliders go for over thirty five hundred dollars. MiB is the only way to ensure that your vintage Styrofoam glider is not damaged. I did not mind dropping four grand for my mint in box USS Flagg but the same price for a three piece foam glider hardly seems justifiable. Enter Screamin' Ehmann. I cannot express how grateful I am to have these and feel that, for the price, I got the better end of the deal.
First things first. The box is gorgeous. This is more than just icing on the cake. The rear of the box is pretty close, save the missing file card. In its place he have a certificate from Ehmann. Instructions/Blueprints are included as well.
The sheet plastic replicas are the exact size as the vintage gliders and pretty close to the same width. They assemble the same way. The decals are printed on so there is not risk of them pealing off in time. The gliders include 3D printed harness clips that are almost dead on accurate to the vintage clips. The only difference is that the pegs are tapered to accommodate 6" figures, and modern 4" figures. Fortunately I have the vintage harness clips. I used the real 1983 clips in these photos. Yes the vintage clips do fit! The set includes rubber bands similar to the vintage set, to help keep your figures on the glider.
The gliders are lovely quality and have a nice egg shell finish. The print job feels very high quality (my father was a printer for the King Features syndicate, if you read a comic strip in a newspaper in the US, during the late 70s to the mid 80s it was my dad's work - so I'm qualified to judge the printing.)
It's a lovely set. It doesn't fly but let's be frank, the vintage ones didn't either.
Screamin' Ehmann has an Ebay and Facebook page. His Facebook page URL is on the right side of the rear of the box.
I modified the VAMP II by painting the lights, adding some rucksacks to the bonnet and side and swapping the claw for a more realistic looking hook.

Lady Jaye graduated from Bryn Mawr and did her graduate work at Trinity College in Dublin where she acquired the faint Gaelic lilt that adorns her speech. An accomplished actress and mime as well as a studied linguist, she can easily pass as a native in France, Italy, Poland, Russia, Germany, Afghanistan, Spain, and Portugal.
Airborne and Ranger qualified, graduated intelligence school Fort Holabird. Qualified expert: M-16, M1911A1 and reflex crossbow.
"Lady Jaye doesn't go in for that phony wig and rubber mask brand of disguise like those jokers on Mission Improbable...She becomes the subject: body language, subtle gesture, correct shading of dialect - The right look in the eye. Cloaked and sandaled, she can squat down with a basket of oranges, in any Middle Eastern marketplace and blend in perfectly."
This is a great figure, oddly enough my favorite thing about it was all the patches he came with, there was enough for him and two more figures.
all in all, a great figure, makes me look forward to the sideshow Rock n Roll that just got announced

Zartan did not come carded. The figure came in the box with the Chameleon. I appreciate how Beggars Canyon Toys handled the cards for the vehicle drivers.

Zartan can alter his skin color at will to blend in with his environment. He is also a master of make-up and disguise, a ventriloquist, a linguist (over 20 languages and dialects), an acrobatic-contortionist and a practitioner of several mystic martial arts. Very little is known of his background and origins, but most security agencies agree that he must have had European military academy training (probably St. Cyr).
Psychological Profile: Extreme paranoid schizophrenic. Grows into various multiple personalities to such an extent that the original personality becomes buried and forgotten
This Banpresto Mazinger Z seems too slim and a bit out of proportion thus looks weak. However, a welcome addition to my collection.
G.I. JOE: RETALIATION - Red carpet movie premiere tonight, Event Cinemas, Sydney, Australia - 14th March 2013...
With Dwayne Johnson aka 'The Rock' (WWE Champion)
Finally The Rock has come to Sydney, Australia (as they say in pro wrestling WWE style).
Thousands of Dwayne Johnson and G.I Joe movie fans lined the red carpet and George Street, as security was at an all time high with dozens of police officers and security guards taking care of business (and helping protect some of the hottest movie stars on the planet).
Dozens of news media were there, all jockeying for position.
Some fans waited over 5 hours for a top position, and one lucky fan had his hand crafted oil painting of 'The Rock' autographed. He was lucky... there were simply too many fans there for Rocky to sign everything presented.
In between celeb appearances, masked Ninja warriors performed fight scenes and stunts that kept everyone entertained.
Dozens of other celebrities showed up to walk the red carpet, but only ROCKY got his name chanted. Rocky showed us in person why he is also known as "The Peoples Champion". Did we mention Rock showed up in some sort of armoured tank... that's what his early tweet was about.. #WhoTheHellNeedsLimos

This movie has smash hit written all over it. Whether your a ROCK, wrestling, G.I Joe or action movie, chances are you are going to love this movie.
This was a contender for 'Australian red carpet event of the year', and if you like action blockbusters, also add in 'movie of the year'.
We hear it's one of those movies that are totally awesome on the big screen, so if you don't usually go to the cinemas to see movies, seriously think about seeing this one, and the good news is that Aussies will be able to see it from March 28.

The Sydney Premiere of GI Joe: Retaliation featuring The Rock at Event Cinemas in George Street, Sydney.
This vintage style Talking G.I. Joe Astronaut was part of a limited production run of only 2000 and is actually a late 1990s/early 2000s replica of the original figure that was first released way back in 1969.
An excellent facsimile of the 1960s and 70s era "toy for boys" by Hasbro, Talking G.I. Joe Astronaut comes complete with: Astro Suit, Flight Hat, Cloth Flight Cap, Tall White Boots, alternate White Astro Boots, and a metal Dog Tag (which, when pulled, triggers the built-in talking mechanism).
Much like the classic original release, when you tug on the metal dog tag, the figure says a total of seven really cool phrases, such as, "Ten seconds to lift off and counting," and "We have ignition... LIFT OFF!"
In addition to a beautiful replica of the original box, the figure also comes with classic style G.I. Joe paperwork, such as a "Special Instructions" sheet, a "Removal of Boots" flyer, and a bonus Collectors' Club insert detailing the history of the Adventures of the Talking G.I. Joe Astronaut.
Cobra has dropped a Terror Drome, so what are the Joes to do? All-out assault, of course! Built by Patrick Carr and yours truly.
I purchased this vintage G.I. Joe action figure (one of a very select few I didn't own when I was a wee lad) for $5 shipped on eBay because it struck me that I had never photographed one of the original Real American Hero figures, which seemed unfortunate.
He's Crankcase, the driver of a dune buggy called the A.W.E. Striker. His file card begins, "There are several ways to get from one place to another in Kansas and driving fast is most of them."
It goes on to say, "Ever get irritable when you're standing in a queue that just doesn't seem to be moving at all? Well the whole world seems to be moving in slow motion to Crankcase--all the time! That's why he's constantly fed-up. He's just not happy unless he has a wheel in one hand, a gear stick in the other and the wind in his face."
I obviously skipped the vehicle and opted for a more generic adventure-themed portrait.
See the first comment below for more photos of Crankcase.
