We finished the night with some medieval band music...?

Mandy announced that we should have a Medieval night and so followed some cutting of cardboard, stapling of old material, painting of wood and some sticking of tin foil. Several days later the guests arrived for a medieval dinner and indoor BBQ (lousy weather), and to finish some of us put on a medieval music display!

I was the fort building champ in 1986 up until the strange thumb injury I sustained from a rogue chair / pillow accident.

I try to maintain my skills with my son every now and then.

Yep those are cushions in the fort. This old lady needs some cush to support my tush!

All day long it seemed like a Friday today, unfortunately it was just Thursday. I'd completely forgotten about an Artist Talk at the Chicago Cultural Center with Erik Holubow tonight. I remembered this afternoon and then had to decide if I was up for it. After weighing the pros and cons I decided to go and I'm glad I did. The talk was very interesting. I'd stopped in a few weeks ago to see the exhibit with Erik's work and that's how I found out about the talk. While there, I recognized a photographer that I know of through a few photographer friends, Samantha Oulavong. I introduced myself and we had a nice chat. It was really a pleasure and nice surprise to meet her. I look forward to going out shooting with her sometime.

After the photography exhibit and while I waited to meet my friend, Pete Tsai for dinner I roamed around a little to take my selfie. I ended up in this alley where I had been a few weeks ago when I met some friends before work. It was a great evening. Such a difference from my original plans of going home and doing nothing!
