It was such a wonderful Sunday we took a drive to New Brighton, April 20, 2014 Christchurch New Zealand.
The naming of New Brighton was apparently done on a 'spur of moment' decision by William Fee, an early settler of the area. When Guise Brittan, the Waste Lands Commissioner, visited the area in December 1860, he was recognised and Fee chalked 'New Brighton' on a wooden plank, supposedly in reference to his fellow settler Stephen Brooker, who had come from New Brighton in England. The Māori name for the area is Kaiuau (kai means food and aua is Yellow-eye mullet) or O-ruapaeroa (an east wind blowing along the shore)
The suburb is divided into three sections spread along the southern coast of Pegasus Bay: North New Brighton; New Brighton; and South New Brighton, which lies at the northern end of a narrow peninsula between the bay and the Avon Heathcote Estuary. A 300 metres (980 ft) pier was built here in the 1990s, and opened on November 1997.
New Brighton was originally a distinct coastal village, separated from the then outer suburbs of Christchurch by the swampy areas adjoining the Avon River. However, urban expansion, land reclamation and drainage have led to Brighton being swallowed by Christchurch city.

Having fun with grandma. She hated the way she looked so I made a silly face to make her feel better. I guess she has a really cranky roommate who yells at her a lot. The roommate isn't all there and yells at everyone. Grandma doesn't take it personally. :P
I can't be certain, but I think it's a fourth generation T-bird, also known as a 'Flair Bird'.
Looks a bit jaggy in the smaller sizes, but the larger one looks nice.

fun. did a free acoustic performance at the 102.1 The Edge radio station in Toronto! They performed 'Carry On' and 'We Are Young', and videos of their performances can be found on the station's youtube here!
And yes, my pro account expired. Hopefully I'll have it renewed sometime this week :).

2004 04 21 1 - A family friend, wanted work but loved staying "cool" so we often played in the hose or something and then kept working. You ought to try it the next time you have to work out in the heat - you stay covered from the sun, and the wet clothes keep you so cool!

The Giant Dipper is a famous wooden roller coaster located at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, an amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. It opened on May 17, 1924. It is the sixth-oldest roller coaster in the United States; over 50 million riders have ridden it since its opening. The United States National Park Service recognized the Giant Dipper as part of a National Historic Landmark also covering the nearby Looff carousel in 1987. It is also an ACE Coaster Landmark. The ride has appeared in many television commercials and movies, including The Lost Boys, Sudden Impact and Dangerous Minds.
The Giant Dipper, which is located between walkways 3 and 4 at 400 Beach Street in Santa Cruz, California, was designed by Frank Prior and Fredrick Church with a double out and back layout similar to the Mission Beach Roller Coaster built in 1925 in San Diego, California. The Giant Dipper was built by Arthur Looff in 1924 in just 47 days at a cost of $50,000. Looff described his plans for the coaster by describing it as a, "combination earthquake, balloon ascension, and aeroplane drop." Looff's father, Charles I. D. Looff, built the carousel on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in 1911; both attractions continue to operate today.
The ride originally cost riders 15 cents per ride; it now costs $4.50 or 6 tickets per ride for riders who do not have an all-day wristband. It also originally had an outdoor station; the indoor station and the tunnel at the beginning of the ride were added later. The ride has also been repainted red from its original green. It has had its trains changed several times. For instance, since February 2007, the fronts of the trains have been covered with the "100 Years" sign and the sides were painted red and blue.
