These two black bears were so much fun to watch. They would chase each other around trees over and over as if they were playing Ring Around the Rosie and then they would start play fighting.

'Peanut' was a beautiful squirrel residing in Bridal Falls BC, where I captured his image... then, a about a year later, stricken with breast cancer, during my chemotherapy treatments, I painted him. Was so blessed as I described on the image inscription...
Sunlight amazes me after months of rain and fog. This is a slinky, "a precompressed helical spring toy invented by Richard James in the early 1940s. It can perform a number of tricks, including travelling down a flight of steps end-over-end as it stretches and re-forms itself with the aid of gravity and its own momentum, or appear to levitate for a period of time after it has been dropped."
But I simply wanted to play with the bokeh light and shadows, for now.
This week Photoclub met at the amazing sim Vindfjell. It is beautifully done, with mist and fog and lots of rain. You can go heard sheep or just be sneaky and take a peek at what your friends are up to... ☺

To start February, my theme is fun. I have been laid low with RSV virus since the end of 2023, life has been wretched and still there is no end in sight. I'm convinced it will be the death of me, I am so very sick. To divert my mind from funeral planning. I dug up some photo failures from my archive and have breathed new life into them.
Luna Park is Sydney's fun park, its motto is "just for fun". Heaven alone knows what I was thinking when I took this portrait shot. Did I not see the two light poles, each one bisecting the clown's cheeks. There was also the truck parked in front of his mouth; this photo was never going to fly.
Thanks to the magic of AI, I converted the shot to square format. Next, I had it remove the light poles and the offending truck. How's that for a little photo fun?

This effect was created by placing a piece of plastic on top of my computer screen with an all white background. I placed a crystal ball on top of the plastic to maginify the poloraized colors. The compositon was photographed using a Polarized Filter.
The comings and goings of the bird life on the Farne Islands made for great entertainment, especially the characterful puffins.

Apparently, this phrase from my childhood, barrel of fun, is now only used sarcastically, so it's actually not a barrel of fun. But I reserve the olde skool usage here.
