Nel 2014 ho deciso di smettere, a tempo indeterminato e dopo 6 anni continui, di scattare questo tipo di fotografie. Poi passò qualche mese e decisi di avventurarmi nella fotografia analogica ma questa è un'altra storia.
Avevo ancora diversi scatti in archivio che dovevo pubblicare qui e sul mio sito; mai però avrei creduto di tenerli nascosti per più di 6 anni.
Oggi quindi, nonostante la mia decisione di sospendere questo tipo di passione sia ancora valida, ho deciso di pubblicare quegli scatti nascosti per rendergli giustizia. Questo è il primo della serie. In totale sono 18 e l'ultimo è di luglio 2014.
Dopodiché avrò definitivamente concluso questa esperienza che mi ha dato davvero tanto ma si è del tutto spenta.

In 2014 I decided to stop taking this type of photographs indefinitely and after 6 continuous years. Then a few months passed and I decided to venture into analog photography but that's another story.
I still had several shots in the archive that I had to publish here and on my site; but I never thought I'd keep them hidden for more than 6 years.
So today, despite my decision to suspend this kind of passion is still valid, I decided to publish those hidden shots to do it justice. This is the first of the series. In total there are 18 and the latest is from July 2014.
After that I will have definitively concluded this experience that has given me so much but has completely died out.

A little break from the food photography. I took a night while in Dijon this past year to do some night shots. The rain added to atmosphere of the photos, however with my low shooting angle and the small river running down the middle of the cobblestones I got soaked several times by passing cars to get this shot. Thankfully the camera survived. although it temperarily did start acting a little wonky. On this corner of the Church of Notre Dame is a small sculpture of an owl that is thought to bring good luck if one rubs it with thier left hand. After flying a mock approach, the Fulcrum driver engaged afterburner and pulled up and away from the crowd, bathing us in burner noise. It was an awesome display at the ILA 2014, made even better due to the soundtrack: two Klimov RD-33 engines and two Metallica songs: 'Whiskey in the Jar' and 'Enter Sandman'. The fake approach and go-around coincided perfectly with the climax of the second song...just awesome!!!! Internationale Luft-und Raumfahrtausstellung Berlin.

The iconic Fulcrum roaring into the sky and flying into the sun like Ikarus. I love the heat effect of the exhaust plume of the afterburner turning the air into jelly. Powered by two RR-33A afterburning turbofan engines developing 80 kN each. I did close my right eye, as the magnifying effect of the SLR camera can cause retinal burns if pointed at the sun. The silhouette of the Fulcrum is beautiful, elegant and unmistakable. Evening display during Bucharest International Air Show 2017.

Polish Air Force MiG-29 Fulcrum during its amazing evening display. Here the pilot has pulled the throttles back and the fuel flow to the afterburner is almost cut. The flames still remaining are following the contours of the flame holders. This is a unique perspective deep inside the heart of the Fulcrum. Internationale Luft-und Raumfahrtausstellung Berlin.

The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29 fighter was a formidable foe when the aircraft, first flown in 1977, initially appeared. This tactical fighter, codenamed 'Fulcrum' by NATO, was rugged yet very agile, and would have been more than a match for its Western opponents in the latter years of the Cold War. The Polish Air Force solo MiG-29 comes from one of two squadrons - the 41st Tactical Squadron based at Malbork, or the 1st Tactical Squadron based at Mińsk Mazowiecki. Together, these units operate a total of 28 single-seat MiG-29As and eight two-seat MiG-29UBs.
