all lines lead to it. as the windows lead you eye left, they then drop it all down to that hydrant. the lines on the street, on the wood, even her white hem.

After taking a candid photo of this lady and her dog we were having a pleasant conversation when 'cross town Carl' came cruising by. Always looking for spontaneity and visual narrative I took my shot..
One millisecond later and the perspective of the alley would have opened up. Instead I got something unique; the fulcrum 'doggie' of the action is mostly hidden, but it's gravity is felt throughout the scene.

Fulcrum is a large sculpture by American artist Richard Serra installed in 1987 near the western entrance to Liverpool Street station, London, as part of the Broadgate development. The sculpture consists of five pieces of Cor-Ten steel, and is approximately 55 feet (17 m) tall.
Deyan Sudjic, director of the Design Museum, has called it one of London's "design icons".
As part of the redevelopment of 100 Liverpool Street, the sculpture had to be lowered by around 1.5 metres.
