Whilst out walking my dog at lunchtime in the drizzle, I came across this fuel spill on the cycle path near my home.
I love the colours and the abstract nature of this! It reminds me of the fractals from the Mandelbrot set from the early 90s...

I'm sure the only reason I grabbed this shot in 1983 is because it involved two SDP40s and their unique square ends, infrequent visitors to Superior. Upon closer inspection these two (6397/6398) were participating in early testing of BN's fuel tender program. Note the yellow and black hose on the rear pilot of each unit for transferring fuel out of a tank car. I'm not sure if that tank car behind 6398 was part of the test, but it appears to have an extra hose in addition to a standard air hose. Now I only wish I had paid a bit more attention and walked around for a better angle.
Run out of fuel in the middle of a pirate infested quadrant? No Problem! Just call Communicator code 1536-3455-fill'er-up! Within minutes, one of our refueling tankers will warp to your area and fuel your ship for a small fee of fifty-thousand credits! Call Now!

Sometimes all it takes is a bike ride through fields full of wild roses and the warm spring sun shining on the back of your neck to really make you appreciate all that life has to offer.
I'm trying to complete a challenge put on by the David Suzuki foundation , it's called the 30x30 challenge and it's designed to encourage people to spend at least 30 minutes outdoors each day for the month of June. Tonight's outdoor excursion was welcomed and appreciated :)

On the way to the m/c field we stopped
at the village gas station for 1 liter of fuel.
The dogs are excited cuz they know we
will soon be at their favorite play ground.
And yes they rolled on many open bags
of cow manure and stunk like hell ;-0-
And yes once home they were all
hosed down while still tethered
in the sidecar. Part of the deal.
Right now the sky has opened
up and torrential monsoon
rains are falling upon us.
But we're all inside ;-)
Thank You.

One of the things I enjoy so much about this last month of the year is that people tend to try to go out of their way to be kinder, share what they can and love each other a little more. I'm hoping more than ever that it will continue through the new year.

My blog is the best way to keep track of all of my new work and what I've been up to. It all links back to Flickr and the photos.
