Photo #2 of my Series " The Tragic Life Of Frida Kahlo"
Frida spent three months recovering from the bus accident in a full body cast. Although she recovered from her injuries and eventually regained her ability to walk, she had relapses of extreme pain for the remainder of her life. The pain was intense and often left her confined to a hospital or bedridden for months at a time.

I've long been an admirer of Frida Kahlo's work but never seem to find any jigsaws featuring her work when we're scouring the charity shops for puzzles. So when I saw this collage of Kahlo photographic portraits on sale on the Jigsaw Puzzle UK (Planet Puzzles) website, I bought it to tide me over until I track down an actual puzzle from one of her paintings.
Assembly was easy: by making the borders surrounding each portrait it was possible to then complete the portraits themselves. Next came the flowers, followed by the remainder of the puzzle.

While in Mexico City, we visited Museo Frida Kahlo. The building was Kahlo's birthplace, the home where she grew up, lived with her husband Diego Rivera for a number of years, and where she later died in a room on the upper floor.
When I was looking over the photos I snapped, this one stood out, the face that the window and details made is so funny!
It was quite a weekend of birthday greetings and Frida gifts. This mug was sent to me by my cousin Joanne - Thanks Cousin
Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a Mexican painter, who has achieved great international popularity. She painted using vibrant colors in a style that was influenced by indigenous cultures of Mexico as well as European influences that include Realism, Symbolism, and Surrealism. Many of her works are self-portraits that symbolically express her own pain. Kahlo was married to and influenced by the Mexican muralist Diego Rivera and shared his Communist views.
