i learned something today, maybe i shouldn't wear a red t-shirt next time i go outside to shoot against something that white, that close.
you can see the red of my shirt is reflected in the plums, lower left,
and the shadow off the bowl has taken on a red-ish hue.
i'm constantly struggling with this kodak point & shoot.
some days it works like a charm, other days i fight with the settings, or presets, rather.
add to that, for no reason, i get anxious & in a rush sometimes when i'm setting up a shot,
and i think that greatly affects my end result.
granted, i realize a point & shoot has it's many limitations, it's just frustrating when, shot after shot, the "smart capture" is completely different from the last & i've not moved an inch or an angle.
it's a bit schizophrenic.
i should call my camera sybil.

So here’s some pics of the dolls a local Barbie club member asked me to fix up. I tried to be as non intrusive and used as many reversible techniques in case a better restorer comes along for them lol. Titian Midge cleaned up the easiest and Blonde Midge had a film of nicotine and grime all over but both cleaned up well. I am not trying to deyellow blonde Midge cuz that’s too intense and stuff for a quick fix it job lol.
Silkstone Barbie just needed a restyle but I’m surprised how DIFFICULT it was washing out her gel lmao.

i've been feeling out of sorts lately, and stale.
today, i drove to the opposite side of town. i had found a bookcase on craig's list - exactly the book case i had been looking for. the one i was about to give up on and buy something cheap at ikea because bennett's books are taking over. and then last night, there it was.
so today, i drove across town to buy the bookcase. which is perfect.
and somehow, in being outside of my routine i felt better. open. aware. and i pulled over to take these photos.
i think i need to do something everyday that's outside of my comfort zone.

You can find fresh coconuts every where. They are falling off trees by the dozen, its quite fantastic.
