We made it to Friday, and to celebrate Mother Nature has decided to throw some freezing rain into the mix, just to make commuting that much more fun.
Didn't have a lot of photo time today, so I took a quick walk at lunch to snap a few macros and this one turned out to be my favourite, so it was the only choice for my photo of the day.
Anyway, hope everyone survived Black Friday and managed a good day.

Following yesterday’s lovely winter sunshine we were expecting much the same today. Things started off OK, bright with a thick covering of ice on everything, then as it got towards lunchtime the freezing fog started rolling in. Anyway it provided an opportunity to test my new 35mm lens in the gloomy light outside the window, seems to be working OK. The last few leaves are falling from the trees, I’d like to say we’ve got our view back, but it’s not possible to see the other side of the valley in this murk.
Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
...for a bit the sun came out and I got to see this before it closed back in.
At least the fog has cleared today ...
Happy New Year's to my Flickr friends!
A very cold afternoon at The Point, Portsmouth, England.Too cold for a beer so I went to The Canteen by the Round Tower and enjoyed a very good caffe latte and some cake instead of going to the Still & West pub which is pictured.HSS.
As safely as I could, I slip-slided along the property to capture some shots before it melted. I took my first shots using auto focus but when I came inside to review them I felt the camera was having trouble determining the focus point due to the ice coating. So I put my coat back on and took some more shots in manual focus. AND, in reviewing the camera's manual I learned that on my camera's rear-facing live view screen I can enlarge the view to see even better detail. But I didn't know that when I took this shot. Sorry. It's freezing ... the frost may not be an actual textile but there are lots of icy textures hanging on to our outside balcony!!

Mother nature has given a big and cold surprise as every corner is filled with snow. Near the small village of Kurkimäki, a Fenniarail's timber train has started its journey to Immola, as the loud sound of class Dr18 diesel locomotive brings something else to the freezing morning.
Frozen mud and crispy puddles!
The majestic but forgotten/derelict building in the background is the old General Office for Shotton Steelworks.
Yes, minus -35 F freezing cold that everything was coated with white snow dust, and icicles drooping from branches and roofs at Tianzi Mountain Reserve in Zhangjiajie, China.

Wunderschön ... aber frostig ... schnell wieder rein.
Beautiful ... but freezing ... let's get inside.
It was lingering all day, but when I went for a walk it came down thick and fast. Now it's all gone. I liked the graphic lines of this old hawthorn bush with just the hint of trees behind.

Freezing fog moved through the area in the night leaving 'frosting' on everything, until the morning sun melted it off.
