If there is such a thing as a saint to a Freethinker, that would be Thomas Paine. In this cartoon, the solidity of Paine's wisdom outweighs Thomas DeWitt Talmage (known as the "pulpit clown"), Henry Ward Beecher (who had a sensational adultery trial in 1875), and The Pope (helped along by a priest and the "Irish," shown by the leprechaun caricature). The "judgment of history" is that rationality will outstrip superstition every time.
