Variation on a Teacup Theme :-) Surrounded by some cute little friends.

Okay, I love this block. I love its impact, its simplicity, and how relatively easy it is to match points (I didn't try that hard so there are some mismatches, but look how slight they are!).

Kate posted two sets of instructions, and I went with the first actually because I had my fabrics cut before she posted the second set of instructions, but I think the first set of instructions is pretty easy -- just more time-consuming than your average 12.5" square block! I'm taking a breather before I work on my second one:)

I've finished up my pillow for the Pillow Talk swap! Someone needs to get ready for a rather large pillow cover... it's fit for a 24" square pillow.

I used the wonderful Joseph's Coat Quilt Along tutorial from the www.dontlooknow.typepad.com

I guess not everyone enjoys Rhythm and Blues as much as she does. The musicians are in the fold below. I could tell they were pros because whenever they saw the camera on them, they smiled.

Needed inspiration at the studio, so I dug my bee blocks out of their drawer and started playing with arrangements on the design wall.

Jennie, for my good friend Bev! Her favorite color is blue (bet you couldn't tell).

Jennie is a Pocket Spirit. Pattern for the basic doll and many clothing options available free on my blog at:

www.byhookbyhand.blogspot.com

Hat pattern is an Annie's Attic pattern.

Model: Freespirit Heartworks

Studio: Hallam Mill (True Definition).

The Pocket Spirits couldn't resist a photo op with Oskar :-)

The darling turtle is an Ana Paula Rimoli design from the May/June 2010 issue of Crochet Today, and the Pocket Spirits are a free pattern available on my blog at:

www.byhookbyhand.blogspot.com

Before finishing the head crochet, add 9mm eyes between rounds seven and eight of the head (you are counting rounds beginning at the neck this time). Stuff the head firmly, and complete the last two rounds of crochet to close the head.

You will have plenty of yarn left after the head is closed, so this is a good time to stitch the nose and eyelids of your little pocket spirit...she can now watch as she is completed :-)

clear blue skies, the kind you get just a few times a year where the air is so crystal clear and the sky that shade of blue that kind of makes your heart ache (in a happy way)

These are the things that inspired this collection, I hope you like it...

I would really love this entire line, but have never actually bought any for myself. I am always buying it for swaps, etc. Now, late in the game as usual, I want to begin my collection for a larger quilt.

Here's a link to my set of fabrics I have available for swap: www.flickr.com/photos/quiltergirl80/sets/72157626377108100/ Thanks!
