To the left is the border of river IJ with the ferries, behind Central Station.
I like these situations of raw construction materials and the sites full of building activities, and the often strange perspectives they create, like here. They disrupt the normal daily urban city-life.

Harlingen, Friesland, a photo of old Dutch architecture at the wall of the old town-hall tower.
In this picture the shadows are falling over the town hall tower of the Dutch small harbor-city Harlingen, seen at the backside of the building in the Voorstraat. That was fascinating me, a combination of two kinds of texture.
This tower was built in the 17th century. Later the town-hall building got combined with it, and the tower became the back-side of the town-hall of Harlingen.
The stone sculpture at the wall is St. Michael, the patron of the fisher-city.

Amsterdam Photos - A split view on the back-side of Central Station Amsterdam with in the middle one of the huge pylons of the new arched hood. Decorated with some wall-tags, fresh in the sun-light.
The metallic curving hood is covering the new bus-station, located behind the much older arched hoods of the train station. There is a difference of more than a century between them.
At the right side the border of the wide river IJ behind Central station, where the ferries cross the water to Amsterdam-North.
