I enjoy very much how urban nature presents itself in this image and almost integrate with the building entry. The people are only very small figures in the whole environment but still rather visible as an exception in the whole.

This issue plays around the conceptual universe of Marcel Duchamp. Not his life, nor his works, just some of his concepts.

Amsterdam photo; I made this picture while walking in the light of Spring along the street Prins Hendrikkade and the quay of the Oosterdok / Docklands waterfront, between NEMO museum and Central Station.
I enjoy very much the old riveted iron ship bodies, many of them almost built c. a century ago. It is part of the history of Amsterdam, harbor city.

Amsterdam photo of textures and walls - A large white graffiti tags sprayed on the surface of a textured metallic grid. A very subtle wall-decoration of a modern building (side wall) - in the light of early Spring. Location is at the street Sarphatistraat, near the side-enter to the area of the Roeterseiland university complex.
I like the fact that the two bicycles are almost fully absorbed by the texture of the wall, but not completely. The sun-light helps a little, or better, much! I really believe that the makers of the wall-tags were fully aware of the beautiful possibilities of the grid.

Amsterdam photo of transport by ship - A Rhine river barge on the IJ water along Amsterdam City. This river IJ is a very important transport connection between the modern ports of Amsterdam and Germany. I like very much the Dutch light and atmosphere with its reflection of the blue sky and drifting clouds in the water surface.
The old concrete pillars are the former foundation of the 'Stone Head'. a platform were goods were overcharged.

I like the shades of the light over the concrete surface and the open gates to the light of the air between the heavy concrete forms. I also love the floating colors of the concrete surface.

Amsterdam photos, urban animals + fauna - A nesting goose on a floating island, which is deliberately planned and constructed of wooden branches; urban fauna in the city-center, at the street Ruydaelkade. I like the collage-effect in the whole image by the reflecting house-fronts in the canal-water. It gives the goose his realistic environment; that's where he lives.
The white goose in Amsterdam are not very good any more in giving birth. And also not in defending the small baby-gooses. They have become to much urban, I believe.

I like this kind of 'grown' communication on the walls by two people, here in stencil-art and just a balloon with only one word. A dialogue on the wall.
This stencil-art was in my own neighborhood so I saw it daily for a few years. Location was near Entrepotdok, at the corner of the small bridge to Artis Zoo.
