The Fundacion Portobelo and the Grupo Realce Historico announce that on Saturday, April 27 they will hold the 11th PORTOBELO CONGOS AND DIABLOS FESTIVAL. This is the main event for Panamanian Afro-colonial culture. Without a doubt it’s a major cultural and tourist attraction for locals and foreigners, who fill the streets of the historic town to enjoy the autochthonous manifestations of this area of the province of Colon.
This important folkloric meeting has been confirmed the support of of the Tourism Authority of Panama and the National Institute of Culture, institutions that are once again joining this cultural effort. The festival arose from the concern of local residents to maintain their traditions, and brings indisputable cultural, economic, tourism and image gains for the community of Portobelo, Colon province and the country in general.
This 11th festival is celebrated within the framework of the recent recognition of the Congo culture as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The distinction is not only a matter of national pride: it gives a definitive accolade to a culture previously denigrated and marginalized. Thanks to the persistence of its cultists of all the peoples of the coasts of Colon and beyond, it has remained alive and powerful.

Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects attended the first of three design workshops to reinvigorate Crocker Park in Sacramento.
!melk, a landscape architecture and urban design firm from NYC, has been hired by the Crocker Art Museum to create a framework plan and conceptual design for the museum and Crocker Park blocks that helps to enhance the surrounding neighborhood.
During the workshop we saw some of !melk's comparable projects, toured the site across from the museum and then gave some ideas and suggestions about what would enhance the park and surrounding neighborhood.

In the framework of the National Model United Nations held in Azerbaijan on 20-23 February 2016, the simulation of the UN General Assembly on the case of strengthening of the UN system and reform of its main institutions was organised.
87 people participated in the simulation conference during four days. The sessions were moderated by Azer Abasaliyev and Turkan Mukhtarova. Two draft resolutions were submitted by the member states, one of which sponsored by Canada, Nigeria, France, United Arabic Emirates, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United States of America, the People's Republic of China, Netherlands, Indonesia and Belgium was adopted by a two-thirds majority. As the result of the game, the participants were awarded with certificates. For their outstanding contribution to the committee the following delegates were awarded at the closing ceremony.
