Trying to recapture my creativity is proving as elusive as recapturing my youth so I went to Old Mellifont Abbey for inspiration. Sadly, this time, there was no Corina or Penny. However, two women stopped to tell me I was wearing a very pretty dress.
We got engaged today, right after the speech. A said yes. It's her birthday, too.

On my last day in Oregon, inthe afternoon, I walked around my sister's neighborhood photographing flowers in the gardens I came upon...and this was one of them:).
Edit: ninja replaced, game crashed while I tried to apply some DoF.

1984 MBE
1939 - 1945 Star - awarded to subjects of the British Commonwealth for service in the Second World War.
France & German Star - awarded specifically for service in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Germany and adjacent sea areas between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945.
1939 - 1945 War Medal. The bronze oak leaf signifies the wearer was 'Mentioned in Dispatch'. A member of the armed forces mentioned in dispatches is one whose name appears in an official report written by a superior officer and sent to the high command, in which is described his or her gallant or meritorious action in the face of the enemy" The copy I have was signed by J.J Lawson, The Secretary of State for War and recorded April 4th 1946 in the London Gazette. From the 91 metre high tower of Wroclaw's Elisabeth Church, the view extends through an ornament on the bridge railing to the Church of the Holy Cross and Wroclaw Cathedral.
This flame burns in a Lantern at the main entry gate to our home. It burns 24 hours a day and always reminds me of a flame of hope for all man kind.
