The theme this week is "Framed" Olive is standing here & framed on two sides :)
I have had Olive a week today (feels like a month lol) she's now 10 weeks and 1 day old. This was a lucky photo, she's a bundle of energy and posing for photos is very challenging, but I got one!
Evie and the cats are still adjusting, takes time & patience. Meanwhile Olive is mainly in the kitchen with a baby gate, helps in toilet training (she's using puppy pads) and peace for everyone lol.

This is one image in a series of studio setups I am shooting. Unlike my flower series of several years ago, which I lit with traditional lighting, I shot these with a technique called Light Painting. The technique involves hand-holding small diffused flashlights and "brush stroking” the light where you want it while the camera’s shutter is open for a long exposure. I then blend several frames together in PS using the best elements from each frame to reach the desired look. This series features hand tools. I had several hammers I had gathered over the years and started adding to the collection for this series, picking up some gears and vintage oilers for some variety. This frame is to commemorate the opening of the Conwy tunnel by Her Majesty the Queen on 25th of October 1991.
I was tempted to remove this frame and bring it home with me. The emerald green colouring gave me shivers of delight :)

A new series based on the concept of frame-within-a-frame. I'll be playing a bit loose with the idea. Here's the first one.

Heading into the fog along cable car tracks. Originally taken in b&w, minor editing (trying to get rid of smudges and reflections on the glass window of the cable car).
I'm easily amused and I thought this was a bit quirky - Patchings Art Centre, Calverton, Nottinghamshire.
This photo was taken on the morning as storm Arwen raged, as I was adjusting my composition tuning the camera on the tripod to vertical I glimpse this wave starting. I quickly took several shots as I tightened my tripod. This first shot was the only one I caught full frame as it soon rose higher and started to exit right, that photo I called "The jaws of Arwen”.
