Small In Frame - It took me a while to come around with the small in frame trend, but I think the switch to mirrorless and going back to using a zoom lens helped me explore and appreciate this type of photography more. The subject/eye autofocus allows me to compose these images real time, no more moving the focus point or focusing and recomposing. With a zoom, I am able to capture a portrait and a wider angle shot from the exact same spot I am standing. This is especially useful for fast subjects like hummingbirds - by the time you move, they are off the perch!

Loved the juxtaposition here of the colorful hummingbird with the dry vegetation.

November rainbow in Yosemite Valley. We note all of the rainbows we see in Yosemite’s waterfalls, so we can search forward to determine when those rainbows will happen again, so we can bring photography workshops back on days when the sun or moon position repeats that geometry, to reproduce a rainbow or moonbow there

A broken window in an abandonned house framing a desolate Sussex landscape

So when shooting one has to mentally catch the frame on the scene, if you can see the frame you can make adjustments for a perfect capture. You know you get the "picture" right?

In Germany this week doesn't feel like summer. It's cold and rany, more like autumn. So I had a look at my photos I shot durig my vacation in June on Mallorca. Just to remember how summer feels ;)

There are so many beautiful spots far away from tourism. They are really worth to visit.

Conrail 6316 and 6432 (SD40/SD40-2) work puller duty at Allentown Yard on 22 February 1986, seen here making headway by passing through the classic truss bridge over the Lehigh Canal. So much of the steam era infrastructure remnants could still be seen trackside in those times.

I was tempted to remove this frame and bring it home with me. The emerald green colouring gave me shivers of delight :)

This frame is to commemorate the opening of the Conwy tunnel by Her Majesty the Queen on 25th of October 1991.

most people on the street are just figures. but this man carries his own frame. a heavy, metal rectangle that separates him from the world. he is both the worker and the artwork. his gaze is direct, a quiet statement from within the structure he holds. it is a portrait of labor, a story about the unseen effort that goes into creating the frames in which we see the world.
