Still working on the dandelion theme, I wanted to develop my design, seeing where the idea would take me. This double page pulls out the concepts of 'fleeting moments' 'fragility' and 'etherality' from my original dandelion clock embroidery.

If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star, like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star, like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
How fragile we are, how fragile we are
Fragile - Sting

It has been a pretty bumpy flight. The girls screamed quite nicely. We've got some hard pushes on the trip. And then, on landing approach, the wing literally disintegrates in front of your eyes.
I used the strobe as a perfect background lightning to see all the spaces between the flaps. Some nice reflections of runway lights, too.

Here's a picture dedicated to all the survivors and victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Another experiment with a "flipped" lens, this time using a small hole punched in a post-it in front of the lens to attempt to get a wider DoF.
The subject is one of those laser-etched souvenirs that glow when you put a light under them, or at least a part of one.
My soul is like a fragile flower,
whose cup the sky so full has filled
with dew, that earthwards it must lower
its head, till half the wealth is spilled.
