I find it pretty damn funny how everyone tends to react once it starts getting cold. Their surprise is just plain laughable.

How long have you lived here? Your whole life? Oh, I can see how that would catch you by surprise...

Although, I must admit, the whole effin' season sneaks up on me; not just the cold weather. I went to bed after Halloween celebrations, and woke up to find that I only had XX shopping days left until Christmas!

While I don't necessarily welcome the cold weather, I do welcome the down time, and the opportunity to learn even more in this wonderful craft.

I snagged a little more gear. If you're considering entering into the OCF/Strobist realm, but don't want to commit a sizable investment into equipment just yet; then I highly recommend procuring a couple of Yongnuo YN560's. They're less than $70, and great fun.

Strobist Info - 2x Vivitar 285HV, at full power, into brollies to blast the wrinkles out of the back drop. YN560, at 1/16, on subject's 4:00; and another YN560, at 1/32, on subject's 11:00 (or 10:30). All triggered by thrifty CBS radio triggers.

It's been a while since I have tried liquid nitrogen on stuff. I found some over-sized strawberries at the dollar store and decided to bring home a few liters of liquid nitrogen.

Shooting sessions with LN2 are always kind of frantic. Once the strawberries are cold and out of the liquid nitrogen they get frosty really quick.

And if they get too frosty it looks like I'm shooting a snowball instead of a strawberry.

I never got a really good shot out of about eight tries. but this one was pretty good.

Cheers.
