And we're in Focus again this month. This one is how Fracking (That's an abrasive word!) works... Highly contentious it is too!!!

Greens/EFA Co-President Rebecca Harms welcomed French Green MEP Jose Bove and a large group of local Polish farmers who have been fighting against the threat to their farms posed by fracking and shale gas extraction.
They were accompanied by Polish film maker Lech Kowalski, creator of "Drill Baby Drill" a documentary about the resistance of Polish farmers to the shadowy tactics used Chevron to begin fracking in Poland.
A crowd joined the farmers and film maker for a special screening of "Drill Baby Drill" followed by a questions and answers session.
This was the opening evening of our three day event in Warsaw during the international negotiations on climate change.

Collects & separates the oil from the natural gas mixed in. The tank heats the mixture and separates them by density. The towers burn off the gas product. The relay notifies the producer when the tank's contents are ready to be collected.

Camp Frack mobilised over 100 climate activists and local residents against plans by Cuadrilla Resources to drill for shale gas in Lancashire, UK.
"Camp Frack", named after "fracking", the process of pumping vast quantities of water underground and fracturing rocks with chemicals to release shale gas, set up outside the Lancashire village of Banks, close to a drilling rig that Cuadrilla Resources is using to drill up to 3.5km deep.
Environmentalists have argued that the "fracking" process is inherently risky. In the US, where shale gas is being hailed by industry as a potential substitute for oil, fears have been raised about the effect of the chemicals used, explosions, links with seismic activity and allegations of illness. A Cornell University study also concluded that greenhouse gas emissions from shale gas are higher than those for coal.

Green MEPs joined NGOs in front of the European Parliament today as part of the Global Frackdown to show their solidarity with the anti-fracking movement
Big Oil & Gas is trying to squeeze as many drilling rigs and fracking equipment onto the map of Europe to lock the EU into fossil fuels. But MEPs can choose the side of Local Communities by pushing for a ban on fracking. NGOs demonstrated how the political rules of the ‘Fracking RISK’ game are rigged to the disadvantage of Local Communities.
