This is another one of those bus routes that you have to work that little bit harder than normal to photograph as it does not enter any major town or city centre. Fourway Coaches use this ADL Enviro 200 bodied E20D on route 30 which links the new housing developments off Calverley Lane near Rodley with Horsforth and it's railway station. YY64GTF is seen here entering Calverley Lane from the Outer Ring Road as it approaches the terminus which is shown as Horsforth Vale on the destination display and Metro's Leeds area map. This sounds an awful lot nicer than Calverley Lane Clariant Development which is shown on Metro's online timetable and presumably would be too much of a mouthful for any bus display equipment.

Former Cardiff Scania / Olympus CN57 BKJ is pictured at Great Baddow running dead to the nearby Sandon School.
This actually carries a Darwen built body who briefly owned the former East Lancs company after its collapse and before it became part of the Optare operation.
Found these guys at the Burke & Wills Roadhouse, Four Ways, QLD, which is about halfway between the Gulf of Carpentaria and Mt Isa.
These guys are incredibly entertaining.
They can be known locally as lousy jacks (due to heavy louse infestations), happy jacks, happy families and CWA birds. The last name is mildly derogatory, referring to the supposed resemblance of apostlebird's constant chatter to a Country Women's Association meeting. Grey jumper is an alternate name.
The Apostlebird is endemic to Australia where it roams woodlands, eating insects and seeds at, or near, ground level. They often travel in groups of about 12; for this reason they were named after the Biblical apostles, the twelve chief followers of Jesus Christ.
The Apostlebird is the only species in the genus Struthidea and together with the White-winged Chough they make up the family Struthideidae, which is commonly called Corcoracidae (Australian Mudnesters). Wikipedia
One of just 10 of the DA class of Dennis Condor / Duple-Metsec to be shipped to the UK after its Hong Kong service days came to an end, this is the former DA1, new to China Motor Bus as its first air-conditioned double-decker and seen here with Fourways Coaches, Highwood, near Chelmsford. Its time in the UK has now ended and very commendably it has now been shipped back to Hong Kong and is being restored to its original condition by Island Vintage Bus.

The second 'Honk for Hope' UK coach event took place in Blackpool on 14/07/2020 and attracted around 200 coaches for a convoy along the M55 and along the Promenade before returning to the South Car Park at the end of Yeadon Way.
The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the plight many operators currently find themselves in. The UK government has offered no financial help to coach operators due to the Covid pandemic almost wiping out their businesses.
The event was very well organised and attracted plenty of media coverage along with enthusiasts possibly enjoying their only event this year!
Here are few snapshots of the 69th UK Coach Rally which took place in sunny Blackpool over the weekend of April 12th/13th 2025. As usual, there was a great selection of coaches on display, all of which are a credit to their owners!
Well done Coach Displays Ltd for putting on a great show. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!

The most recent Wembley session I've attended was the occasion of the Rugby League finals day in early June 2025. Just under 180 coaches came down from the North bringing fans to watch a trio of matches. The great thing about the rugby games is that ALL fans can mix together and so there is no segregation when parking coaches. I've always been impressed with how rugby fans conduct themselves - very friendly genuine fans!!

South Solon Meetinghouse
Solon, Maine
May 27, 2023
South Solon Meetinghouse is a historic church building in south central Solon, Maine. Built in 1842, it is a remarkably fine example of Gothic Revival architecture in a rural setting. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The building is now owned by a non-profit organization and operated as a community function space.
The South Solon Meetinghouse is located at the fourway junction of Rices Corner (or South Solon) Road, Parkman Hill Road, and Meetinghouse Road, about 5 miles (8.0 km) southeast of the village center of Solon. It is a single-story wood frame structure, with a gable roof and clapboard siding. A squat single-stage square tower rises above the main (east-facing) facade, consisting of a belfry with Gothic-arched louvered openings, and pinnacles at the corners above. The main facade is symmetrically arranged, with a pair of entrances flanking a tall central window, all three elements topped by Gothic-arched panels. The sides of the building each have three similar windows.
The original box pews, pulpit and choir loft gallery are still in place. The interior of the South Solon Meeting House was elaborately painted between 1952 and 1957 by 13 artists from the nearby Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. The artwork inside this building features a painting technique called buon fresco which has been taught at the Skowhegan School since its foundation. Some of the artists involved in this fresco project are William King, Ashley Bryan, Sidney Hurwitz, John Wallace, Sigmund Abeles, Tom Mikkelson, and Edwin Brooks.
Coach & Bus UK 2019 took place at the NEC in Birmingham over October 2nd & 3rd. The biennial event is the smaller of the two major UK trade shows which both take place at the NEC in alternating years.
Nonetheless there was still plenty to see including exhibits from ADL, Arriva, BASE, BKM, Dawson, EVM, Harris, Irizar, Mellor, Moseley, Noone, Pelican, Unvi and Volvo to name but a few. I visited on the first day of the show.
