Leading lines and light are important principles in Photography. A leading line directs ones eye through an image while use of light can create a 3 dimensional look creating contrast and depth. This sight created the elements I wanted to provide depth into the image. Fountains Abbey was established in 1132 AD in Northern Yorkshire England. This is the vaulted cellarium used for storing meat and used as a larder (pantry). (Edited in Lightroom and Photoshop)

* The last post from my trip to Seville at least for a while . It is another shot from the Plaza de España that we saw on our first afternoon. We were equally impressed by the architecture but also by the wonderful warm temperatures . Two months later and I am still waiting for a little warmth its been a cool wet Spring this year

The Plaza de España is is a beautiful collection of buildings in the Parque de María Luisa in Seville. It was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. The Plaza was, designed by Aníbal González, was a principal building built on the Maria Luisa Park's edge to showcase Spain's industry and technology exhibits. González combined a mix of 1920s Art Deco and Spanish Renaissance Revival, Spanish Baroque Revival and Neo-Mudéjar styles. The Plaza de España complex is a huge half-circle; the buildings are accessible by four bridges over the moat, which represent the ancient kingdoms of Spain. In the centre is the Vicente Traver fountain.

I wish our Swedish climate were more suitable for fountains. Here we have to turn them completely off half of the year, so the water doesn't freeze and break the pipes.

The Fountain of the Thirteen Spouts, also known as the Fountain of the Pen, has ancient origins dating back to a fountain already present in Greek times, later incorporated into the medieval walls. The current Renaissance structure, with 13 masks of satyrs and fauns, was designed by Pellegrino Tibaldi and built between 1559 and 1560. The fountain is a symbol of the city of Ancona, represented by the bas-relief of the Assaulting Knight above the central mask.

A homage to my hometown Essen in Germany's Ruhr district. "Greener" than most folks might think, the city offers quite a variety of views to enjoy, such as the GRUGA fountain basin.

Founded in 1132 Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. The Abbey operated until 1139. It is now a National Trust (NT) property.

Lava fountains from the Meradalir eruption, which started on 3 Aug 2022. The fountains and the distant landscape look blurry seen through the hot air rising from the sea of lava in front of the erupting fissure.
