A Maiko (Apprentice Geisha) dressed in a black, ceremonial kimono, with special tortoiseshell Kanzashi in her hair and double bira-kan (fluttering hair ornaments). Her kimono is decorated with bamboo, (green?) maple leaves, hydrangeas and other flowers, while her obi has a Yukiwa (snow ring) pattern with more bamboo and flowers inside them.
This is an outfit that I would wear to dinner on one of the formal nights in the main dining room then on to the show and dancing afterwards.
While photographing a street performer, I turned around and saw this chap in rather interesting attire.
I assume it is formal attire worn at a wedding ceremony, as the lady behind also appeared to be in formal dress.
He does look a little uncomfortable and self concious though.
Wishing them a happy and long marriage.

I had the honor of photographing my friend's 10th wedding anniversary this past weekend when they renewed their vows.. It was definitely a fun job & event to be a part of.
After creating the photo-manipulated picture of me on a cruise ship I started thinking about what else I might wear if I was on a cruise. This and the following pictures are the results.
I'm off to the main dining room in this dress on one of the formal nights.
The formal loggia fountain based on the Trevi fountain in Rome, and the more informal Two Sisters Pond.
This was very hard to process. I hope I have done OK. The sun was right above, in fact you can see some rays. Also a strange anomaly showed up on the image. I have removed it.
I did show Ronnie before I removed it, he's still shaken up!
In preparation for a formal breakfast event on Monday morning, I went down to the local shopping centre and picked up a few supplies.
I couldn't resist picking up this maxi dress for the event.....
...over the weekend I was asked to take some "formal" shots for the next door neighbour. As nerve wracking as it was right in the beginning, I did quite enjoy myself. Being the time of year when the high school students graduate and celebrate the end of their schooling, this is a really exciting time for them. The only "down"side was that it started raining and plans to go to a local park were ditched. So glad that I had bought an external flash!!
This is my first formal gown - my Christmas present this year, to myself. I waited six months for it to arrive, then another two weeks while a lovely lady at a Bridal Shop customized it for me - adding a corset lacing at the back, so if I ever lose the weight I've put on in the past three years, the dress will still fit me. That first time I stood on the raised pedestal to have the hem adjusted, and saw myself in the three sided full length mirror, I started crying. I love my age and who I am. Finally, my outward appearance matches my heart.
The formal dining room of Plantation House (1792) on St Helena Island retains the elegance of bygone years.
Didn't know where he was going but this Great Blue Heron looked to be all dressed up at Ridgefield NWR.

Formal Funk Cloe in her primary outfit*
*Note: this Cloe is actually a Head Gamez Cloe. My original Formal Funk Cloe became damaged so I got rid of her. I noticed the Head Gamez Cloe has the same face, so she became the new Formal Funk Cloe. It's perfect because she's lost that hideous 'volcano' up-do.
Not my usual content but liked how it turned out. White shirt-sleeve dress shirt, white t-shirt, jeans, black belt, white socks, and black penny loafers
