A spoon perched atop two forks which are reflected in its underside creating an eye watering abstract.

A red-eyed all-black upright bird with a narrow tail that splays out into a fork. Pairs and singles occasionally join mixed-species flocks in a variety of wooded and open country, although they avoid forest. The species sits in the canopy and midstory, hawking insects from a perch, and it sometimes associates with large mammals, eating prey that they flush. It is loud and noisy, singing a variety of unmelodic, noisy, and mechanical notes, sometimes including imitations of other bird species.

What a difference a year makes! This photo is nearly a year old, and it's quite evident considering the amount of water that was roaring through the Roaring Fork stream back on 10/08/21. I was standing waist deep in the water secured by an old log to grab this capture... really fun! It's been nearly a month since we've had any meaningful rains in our mountans... I've heard of doing "snow dances" for snow when I go skiing, but maybe it's time to work out some "rain dances" to fill these streams before the color leaves us. :) -H3
The Dupont Underground is an abandoned cable car station under Dupont Circle. it later got turned into a food court, but has been abandoned since the 90s. It has an art installation in part of it, but the rest is straight up urban darkness.
Ruby Beach is the northernmost of the southern beaches in the coastal section of Olympic National Park in the U.S. state of Washington. It is located on Highway 101, in Jefferson County, 27 miles (43 km) south of the town of Forks.
Like virtually all beaches on the northern coast, Ruby Beach has a tremendous amount of driftwood. It is notable for the number of sea stacks there.
The beach is so called because of the ruby-like crystals in the beach sand.
First off, I hope everyone had a nice Christmas.
Taken a while back now, it is a bit different for me, but certainly not original. I was inspired by a great image by Volker Hahlbeck; one of his egg on fork shots can be seen here... www.flickr.com/photos/189890556@N02/52163520191/in/dateta... You shold have a look at some of his pasta shots. Very inspirational.
I have no idea as to who was the original person to shoot this subject, but many people have done variations of of the egg balanced on forks, but tat the time I had only seen Volker' images, and after seeing them, I just had to give it a shot. Shot on my countertop with all sorts of stuff propped up for a background and lighting, using flashlights.
With winter upon us, I may try shooting other kitchen utensils. I have done so in the past years ago and it can be quite fun. A vegetable steamer, a whisk, pretty much anything can make for interesting shots if you play with them long enough.
The idea of forks as the subject of a photo has always appealed to me and finally, today I followed through. For We're Here! who are looking at forks and for my POTD.
Just got my copy of "Thug Kitchen - eat like you give a f*ck" and suddenly my vocabulary has become a bit spicier. Can't wait to start cooking the recipes from the book, I follow them on Instagram and just love their images. If you are offended by strong language then maybe skip it, otherwise let your inner sailor out and just fork it!
The Buffalo Fork River is a tributary of the Snake River and part of it forms a boundary of Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. It has a reputation as a great place to fish, but the water is extremely low now. I liked the view of this huge s-curve and neighboring ranches.

I didn't think I'd be able to do this one as my spoons didn't seem very reflective! However, I buffed them up and I was surprised at the difference - HSoS!
