I've started work on my bike and the first job is preparing my fork ends. I trimmed the excess eye since I won't be using it and I'll give the a scrub with some 120 grit tape and a scrubby pad ready for brazing.

Fox 40 fork should do the trick. May have to switch to a stiffer spring because of the expected 100lb weight of the bike.
Fork blade bender, based on Tim Paterek's plans, made in Oak. The wood comes from an Ikea kitchen countertop...
The Middle Fork Path in Springfield, Oregon is a 4-mile-long, 10-foot-wide pathway that runs from Clearwater Park all the way to Dorris Ranch, revealing views of the scenic Middle Fork Willamette River.
Visitors can access the path from Dorris Ranch to the west and Clearwater Park to the east. From Clearwater Park, the path travels first along the Springfield Mill Race channel and then along the Middle Fork of the Willamette River to a pedestrian bridge spanning Quarry Creek. Path users enjoy a small picnic area with a portable restroom just before the bridge. They can now continue on around the butte to Dorris Ranch, where a new trailhead, parking area and restroom have been built.
The Middle Fork Path also connects to the 3-mile Mill Race Path, creating an 8-mile loop that incorporates downtown Springfield.
With brief sections of on-street bicycle lanes, both paths connect to an extensive existing riverfront path system linking Springfield and Eugene.
To further enhance the path’s regional appeal, a bridge across the river is in long-range plans. Such a bridge would provide access to Lane County’s 2,300-acre Howard Buford Recreation Area and Mount Pisgah, including 16 miles of trails within the recreation area and access to the preferred route of the Eugene to Pacific Crest Trail.
Chappel Fork in McKean County PA. I do lots of hiking up watersheds in the Allegheny National Forest to look for the hemlock woolly adelgid. I haven't seen it this year in the ANF. The cold winter took an estimated 95% mortality rate on the HWA in the ANF region. This is good news... at least for this year
Forks, WA declares September 13th (Bella's birthday) as "Stephenie Meyer day" - special thanks to Mike Burling at the Forks Chamber of Commerce for the photos!
While waiting for the ferry back to Manhattan I noticed amongst all the change a badge emblazoned with the words "eat girls" and a fork beside it. It seemed like a tempting proposition.
productive day in the workshop today.
Following a number of similar designs found online, e. g. Alex Wetmore.
The rear dummy axle will of course be replaced with a 102mm dummy axle.
This jig is based on a kit that was offered by Alex Wetmore for a while. I modified the kit using some ideas I got from a jig that Drew Guldalian (Engin) built, and also from the Nortac plate style fork jig I've been using up to now.
A very beautiful waterfall that is surprisingly easy to reach. Video guide available here: www.hdcarolina.com/episode/roaring-fork-falls

I fancied a wee change in the Scot fork decal that we've been using. I thought it would be nice to have the Lion Rampant in the red and yellow rather than a yellow lion on blue. And also changed the reversed French flag with the thistle on top to an Italian flag for a bit of a Continental feel. Then put the world champion bands at the bottom. They came back up the other day from Lloyds Cycles and look great . . . I think. They'll be on my next project.
