I spotted this very tiny flower in the wetlands at Meadowbrook. I'll have to check my books but it looks like a Forget-me-not to me.
Garden shot from this morning. Very few flowers are out at the moment, so feeling a little restricted to what I can actually photograph.

My grandfather fought in the Somme, aged 17. Fortunately for him, his wife to be, my mother to be, my brothers and me and our next generation, he survived when he was almost blown to pieces after being hit whilst carrying the ammunition for his unit on a charge out of his trench. He returned with steel plates in his head and steel pins all over his legs and lived to age 92 but never talked about it until he was dying in 1990. He remained a maddening right winger, working class Tory to the end. We can never forget what these generations went through in these wars and the futile but admirable losses which are still being experienced in wars since and in the present. This is one of many poppies which self seed in my Dad's garden in Southport and which I shot last summer.

This bright little blue flower could be the emblem of the NHS. As they all care and think of their patients - we all will never forget them.
I found out after talking to a park ranger that these forget me nots are invasive and not really wanted. They have plans to try and remove as many as they could. I seen em like this all over in the park. and for those of you still reading this the park ranger took my picnic basket

Fort Buchanan, PR- Soldiers assigned to the 1st Mission Support Command (1st MSC), US Army Reserve-Puerto Rico, observed Memorial Day with a small but significant ceremony at the command’s headquarters, 27 May.
During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Fernando Fernandez, 1st MSC Commanding General, and Command Sgt. Maj. Rene Rivera, 1st MSC Senior Enlisted and advisor to the Commanding General, laid a wreath at the command’s War Memorial Monument.
“Today we commemorate the sacrifice of all Soldiers, particularly the over 1,000 Puerto Ricans troops killed in action while serving in the United States Armed Forces, since the World War I and specially the two members from our Reserve command in Puerto Rico, who did the ultimate sacrifice in support of democracy and freedom,” said Fernandez.
The two fallen heroes of the command are Spec. Ramon Reyes, who was killed in Iraq in 2003, and Sgt. Miguel Ramos, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2005.
“Memorial Day is a day to ensure the new generations never forget that freedom is not free. We must not forget,” said Fernandez.
I love this, even if I do say so myself. :o)
Just darkened highlights as I had ISO set to 800 (forgotten from yesterday - d'oh!)
This is in Haughton Lane, Shifnal, and while I was crouching down, the man who lives in the house opposite came over and had a chat. He was interested in what I was doing as he's actually planted most of the wild-flowers that pop up in this particular spot.
