These are garden escapees which I collected from a path near to home- intended initially as my Photo A Day.
“Lest we forget” – three very simple, yet also very powerful words. First used in an 1897 poem written by Rudyard Kipling called “Recessional”, to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, they caution us to be careful not to forget.
As we take a moment this Armistice Day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our peace, prosperity and stability, and those who fight today to protect us still, let us also hope that conflicts around the world will come to a swift conclusion, not least of all in Ukraine and in Gaza
Armistice Day or Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty. It falls on the 11th of November every year. Remembrance Day is marked at eleven o’clock (the time that the armistice was declared) with a minute’s silence to honour the fallen. Following a tradition inaugurated by King George V in 1919, the day is also marked by war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries.

It continues impressing me seeing so much life in such little spaces! It's made me more mindful where I step when the signs say "sensitive vegetation."
Aging and health changed how much ground I can cover. Where once I frequently covered many miles on the steepest trails, there are days, now, I'm limited to a mile or kilometer --at most-- on flat ground. Discovering and appreciating the macro world is good, because, when I slow down and look, there's plenty to see on my short journeys, too. There's a universe in every footstep I never noticed, before.
Although birds are my favorite subject I like to explore different things. I shot these flowers just a bit out of focus and played with the levels and kind a like the result.

You can dance
Every dance with the guy who gives you the eye
Let him hold you tight
You can smile
Every smile for the man who held your hand
'Neath the pale moonlight
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin', save the last dance for me, mmm
Oh, I know (oh, I know)
That the music's fine like sparklin' wine (yes, I know, oh, I know)
Go and have your fun (yes, I know, oh, I know)
Laugh and sing (yes, I know)
But while we're apart (oh, I know)
Don't give your heart to anyone (yes, I know, oh, I know, yes, I know)
But don't forget who's takin' you home
And in whose arms you're gonna be
So darlin', save the last dance for me, mmm (save the last dance for me)
Baby, don't you know I love you so
Can't you feel it when we touch?
I will never, never let you go
I love you, oh, so much

Forget-me-not flowers, seen from close :)
Forget-me-not (Myosotis - from the Greek: "mouse's ear") is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae. The genus is largely restricted to western Eurasia with circa 60 confirmed species and New Zealand with circa 40 confirmed species. A paucity of species occur elsewhere including in North America, South America, and Papua New Guinea. Many are popular in horticulture. They prefer moist habitats. In locales where they are not native, they frequently escape to wetlands and riverbanks. Flowers are typically 1 cm in diameter or less; flatly faced; colored blue, pink, white, or yellow with yellow centers. They typically flower in Spring or soon after the melting of snow in alpine ecosystems. Forget-me-not is the state flower of Alaska.

Małe, urocze niezapominajki, ogladane z bliska :)
Niezapominajka, niezabudka (Myosotis - w tłumaczeniu z greckiego "mysie uszko") – rodzaj roślin należący do rodziny ogórecznikowatych.
The common name, Forget Me Not, comes from a German legend about a knight who died trying to get the flowers for his lover and called out with his last breath, “Forget me not!”. The Greek name, Myosotis, means mouse's ear because the oval, furry leaves resemble a mouse's ear.

Happy birding 💧
Now that the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, I would like to use my Monday flower greeting to return to the beginning of the year.
Let us remember when the first flowers appeared in the brown of last year's autumn leaves, when the birds singing greeted us again in the morning and we finally felt the warming sun on our skin.
At this point, this little beauty here, the forget-me-not, was also in full bloom.
And so I wish you many beautiful memories for this week (and not just for this week) and the constant certainty that such moments will keep coming. Especially in times when it seems a little darker and colder.
