'FORGET ME NOT' - 'SPRING 2025' - 'NIKON D5600 With NIKKOR 40mm F2.8 Micro - (With Ring Flash) - 14th-15th APRIL 2025
The blogger of Trendy and Coffee made a tutorial for some basic things you can do in photoshop. I love her pics so I had to try some of the things out, I'm really happy with the results, and I will probably be using some of these tricks regularly!
Well they bluebells I hear you say not “Forget me not”, but I have a point with my title. I will start my little spiel by telling you how the small alpine flower got it’s name. According to Greek myth, the great god Zeus thought he had given all the plants a name, whereupon the little blue flower called “forget me not”. The supreme god decided to make things easy by giving the plant that name. Ironically this phrase as it happens is just what many landscape photographers don’t do each spring with Bluebells. One has just to look at social media to see it’s coming up to bluebell season. Even as we take the first steps out of winter, images start to appear from previous years bluebell hunts, stating their growing excitement of anticipation for this years captures. I totally understand this excitement because walking into a springtime woodland and seeing carpets of bluebells takes your breath away and catching them on the right morning in the right wood produces some of the best springtime photographs I’ve seen, and one day I’ll hope to capture mine. The other casual link to the Forget me not flower is their colour. Many times I’ve seen a clump of the little flower in the distance mistaking them for bluebells as my woodland wander is dragged in that direction. With my prostate procedure tomorrow I’m not going get much chance to experience my favourite season early beginnings this year in my favourite North East woodland, but luckily spring was well on its way in Bristol last week where I captured this photo on a very early morning walk from my sons house. I’m giving my posting a little rest until after the procedure which leaves me to say, forget me not.
these tiny flowers were seen yesterday ....growing wild along a creek ....and in great abundance ...
thanks for the visit .....Happy Blue Monday :-)
Myosotis (pronounced /ˌmaɪ.əˈsoʊtɪs/;[1] from the Greek: "mouse's ear", after the leaf) is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae that are commonly called Forget-me-nots.
There are approximately fifty species in the genus, with much variation. Most have small (1 cm diameter or less) flat, 5-lobed blue, pink or white flowers with yellow centers, growing on scorpioid cymes. They bloom in spring. Leaves are alternate. Popular in gardens, Forget-me-nots prefer moist habitats and where they are not native, they have escaped to wetlands and riverbanks. They can tolerate partial sun and shade. ....from Wikipedia

Sometimes I forget how pretty Cardinals really are. Of course it's nice when they let you get close enough for a decent shot to help show them off.

The War Memorial in Abergavenney. It seems that as a world, we don't forget but we don't learn either......
one I did for this week's Macro Mondays but didn't post because there were already several forget-me-nots posted before I got there. The orange is the side of a skip on a building site.
A shaft of light punches its way into a room at the abandoned resort. There was heavy cloud cover and light rain outside, which gives some indication how dim it was in here.
Normally I'd never put my gear down on a surface while exploring, but these beds seemed clean enough. I realized some time later that I’d left a lens behind. Fortunately I was still on-site and had time to go back and get it.
