Friday, 21 February 2025: Brussels – Köln – Hamburg

Outbound Travel Day 3

All went according to plan with the first of our DB trains and ICE 13 departed Brussels Midi at 08:25 and arrived into Köln Hauptbahnhof at 10:15. However en route we'd been notified that the connecting ICE 202 train to Hamburg had been cancelled, but after a leg stretch out of the station to take a look at Cologne Cathedral and a wait on the platform, the replacement service turned up and ICE 2922 pulled into Hamburg Hauptbahnhof only an hour or so late.

KvR provided a fab walking tour of her city, sourced a Scotch whisky for the snowshoe trip and marzipan treats for back home, and took us out for a super tasty Vietnamese dinner at GAO kitchen.

Back at the station our sleeper train to Stockholm was waiting for us and we settled into our first class cabin for the night. Compact and bijou, with one side given over to our triple bunks and the other boasting an en suite complete with basin, loo and shower.

Overnight: SJ EuroNight, train 346. Dep Hamburg Hbf 22:03, Arr Stockholm Central 09:57 next morning

This and the ones to follow are for the fictional place on that fictional planet. Their forecast is probably as close as one can get to what's going on in Texas here on Earth. Quite warm and humid at night and hot and humid during the day.

Highlights from day 2 of Forecast 2013.

2013 commissioned by WGSN to relfect the staff and the likelyhood of their futures.

One more day of calm weather for that fictional planet. But, it's coming!

The blossom has been so good this year - as though celebrating the end of the long dreary winter.
