has been taken by the BJ P government of Chhatti::;garll1 dnd it is Mat1endra Karma Of Congress Who took the 1n1t1ative of formin g Salwa Judoom, showing that all ruling class forces are one in the repression of the revolutionary movement. In Chhattisgarh, Salwa Judoom is nothmg but the paidand armed goons of the state, known as the Special Police Officers (SPO), which tncluded a number of children of even ten to twelve years of age. They helped the state to clear 644 villages in Bastar and other adjacent areas. and displaced 3,50.000 people till date. The people were forced to shift into camps and stay there. The Salwa Judoom has killed hundreds of people so far, raped women, looted and burnt down houses, mixed poison in drinking water, burnt down crops and cattles mercilessly. Many independent fact finding teams have repeatedly revealed the horrors of the 'relief camps' and how people tortured.

within it. In the last two years, people started fleeing the camps and went back to their villages to start their normal lives once agam. More than 2,50,000 people have returned to their villages in this manner. This defeated the entire purpose of Salwa Judoom as it was nothing but a clever effort to forcefully .

remove people from their land, so the provisions of the Forest Act (which states that the adivasis should .

be physically present to claim their lands) can be manipulated and this resourceful mineral-rich forest land can be handed over to all the corporates like Tata, Mittal, Essar, Lafarge, Holcim, Texaco etc. with whom the state government has already signed MoUs. The government is gifting.

them the best deposits of iron ore as captive mines at a measly royalty of less than Rs. 50 a tone, while the local industry have to purchase iron ore at open market rates, which goes upto Rs. 5800/tone. The limestone deposits are similarly given out at meager rates to the giant cement MNCs. .

The people have heroically resisted the Salwa Judoom. The administration openly declares that the people of all those v1llages who have refused to come to the camps, all those villagers who have ( not JOined/ co-ooerated with the Salwa Judum. those who are still daring to sow their fields in the .

tf. affected villages (only to flee when the security forces arrive leaving the vulnerable behind to be an killed or arrested), and !,:ertainly those who arP living in the forests. are by default "Naxalites". l?.s.' Therefore, the state has now declared an official war, with Operation Green Hunt and Godavari, with resc the sole purpose to forcefully occupy the land from the people. .

It is the same hindu-brahminical patriarchal state which has completely become the colony to the imperialist orces, which is celebrated by the 'patriotic' ABVP and NSUI! This has reduced the livelihood of maximum people into utter .

destitution and brands people as 'terrorists' and 'internal and external security threats'. It is against this oppressive state machinery and its semi-feudal values that the people are fighting. The genuinedemocratic and progressive forces of the country must stand unconditionally by the people and against this war. .
