Fools Gold stars Matthew McConaughey as Ben Finn Finnegan, a good-natured, surf bum-turned-treasure hunter who is obsessed with finding the legendary 18th century Queens Dowry -- 40 chests of exotic treasure that was lost at sea in 1715. In his quest, Finn has sunk everything he has, including his marriage to Tess Finnegan (Kate Hudson) and his more-rusty-than-trusty salvage boat, Booty Calls. Just as Tess has begun to rebuild her life, working aboard a mega-yacht owned by billionaire Nigel Honeycutt (Donald Sutherland), Finn discovers a vital clue to the treasures whereabouts. Certain that his luck will change with the newfound information, Finn maneuvers himself aboard Nigels yacht and, using his good-natured charm, convinces the tycoon and his Blackberry-wielding, celebutante daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena), to join him in the pursuit of the Spanish treasure. Against Tess better judgment, the search rekindles her loveof discovery. But they are not the only ones after the treasure. Finns mentor-turned-nemesis Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone) has also set out to claim the prize.

"A fool is one who goes on trusting; a fool is one who goes on trusting against all his experience. You deceive him, and he trusts you; and you deceive him again, and he trusts you. Then you will say that he is a fool, he does not learn. His trust is tremendous; his trust is so pure that nobody can corrupt it.
Be a fool in the Taoist sense, in the Zen sense. Don't try to create a wall of knowledge around you.Whatsoever experience comes to you, let it happen, and then go on dropping it. Go on cleaning your mind continuously; go on dying to the past so that you remain in the present, here now . as if just born, just a babe.
In the beginning it is going to be very difficult. The world will start taking advantage of you...let them. They are poor fellows. Even if you are cheated or deceived and robbed, let it happen, because that which is really yours cannot be robbed from you, that which is really yours nobody can steal from you.
And each time you don't allow situations to corrupt you, that opportunity will become an integration inside. Your soul will become more crystallized."- Osho
I was trying to get a good picture of my new specs, but I ended up with this picture of me and all of my pets, reflected in our mirrored Ikea wardrobes. I really need to dust those things.
My hair came out good today. I mixed a little honey into my DevaCurl Angell.
After the dog I thought what a waste, then saw these swans and was relieved to have something cool to shoot... nope, fooled again!
Another Fool, another hill. This one's commissioned for the drummer with the Aelphgythe morris-side and dressed in their blackface and tatter-coat. This snapshot was taken about a day before final tweaks and the handover but it's the closest I got to the subdued colours of the original.
Happy April Fools day everyone!

I had a quick shoot with my best friends in House of Fools over this past weekend, kept it simple and we love the results. If you haven't heard this band it's something you need to do. For fans of: Tom Petty, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and a touch of Kings of Leon.
Photo was taken backstage at Lincoln Theatre in their recently renovated Green Room. They painted over the Sharpie covered walls, added a REALLY nice couch and chair, new AC unit, TV, and fridge! They went all out, that room is now super comfortable -- all they need now is to sound proof the room!
These guys are currently working on a brand new full length that they are recording on their own, be prepared for something amazing. Once that release gets closer, we are going to plan out a detailed shoot with a bunch of locations -- pretty pumped!!
This is the last photo I plan on posting from this short series and I think it might be my favorite -- It's super candid and really captures their spirit.
Be sure to check out the other two photos here and here :)

Aw yeah! This photo of Fossil Fool and a guest rapper won the Brooks Saddles photo contest and will be on their home page. Thanks to Ross Evans for the photo.
Explanation:
I was street performing in North Beach, San Francisco, during one of the San Francisco Cruiser Rides, and this crowd of people walked by and started really reacting to the music. One of them said he had something to say a cappella, so I handed him the microphone and let him do his thing. He was really getting into it.
The bike is an Xtracycle Sport Utility Bicycle with a custom-built, 300-watt, 5-speaker music system called the Soul Cycle. It’s got all sorts of switches and knobs on the handlebars, including lighting, bass adjustment, and even a tiny 2 channel mixer so I can balance my vocals to the backing music. I rap mostly about bikes and public transportation. I try to keep it funny because the guilt trips don’t work. My mission is to get a bike rap song in the top 40, alongside all the songs about cars and guns and girls.
The Soul Cycle project inspired me to invent the Down Low Glow – the neon green ground effects lights seen in the picture. I’ve now sold them to folks all over the world through the Fossil Fool.com web site. People say they feel a lot safer at night due to the intense side visibility. Most people just buy it for the cool ‘pillow’ effect you get gliding on the neon light.
Thanks to Brooks for continuing to put out such a high quality and stylish product. I’m all about making my bike as styling as possible, not to intimidate or compete with others, but to amaze small children and convince my peers that cycling is sexy. Once we achieve that, I think you’ll find a lot more cities in the US that have strong bike cultures. It’s worth the effort.

Fool's Sceptre
Cheeky and coy, fleshy and cracked, the transparently disguised profanity exemplifys the free ethos of the carnival, Fool’s Sceptre reminds the viewer that nothing is necessarily just as it seems, nor it is otherwise.

Meanings and Details
0 THE FOOL
The Fool is an unnumbered card, but it is assigned the symbolic mathematical equation 0, or, "Zero is one plus minus one." This releases him to travel all over the deck, and The Fool has been known to occupy both the first and last place in the order of the cards. In playing cards, The Fool is also known as the "Wild Card".
Another name for the Fool is the Innocent. He may represent naïveté and the spirit of the pure unconscious, but this should not be mistaken for ignorance. I chose to photograph the Fool as a young child to convey ideas of innocence and beginnings, for he is embarking upon the journey of life. He is carrying a sack which contains his few belongings; it is often assumed that these are the Tarot's four symbols-- the cup, the sword, the pentacle, and the wand. The stick supporting the sack could however symbolize the wand. The Fool is using another stick as a support. Later, the magician will hold it aloft as a sceptre and the Hermit once again return it to its initial usage as a support. The sword, coins and cup appear muted in the border as he is still in the land of the unconscious. They reappear fully visible for the Magician.
I created a sack out of a cloth covered in skeletons, as endings are inherent in beginnings, and it is wiser to embrace the notion of Death than to live in denial of it. Although the Fool appears as yet oblivious to it, the anticipation of Death is nonetheless part of the burden we carry through life and it often remains an unresolved issue. We also carry within us the seeds of our innocence which as we travel through subsequent roles in life can help sustain us. Through the more difficult dilemmas, it may be important to recall the wonder of this initial engagement with life. Otherwise, Death may take on the appearance of a solution rather than a conclusion.
Engaged in an exploration of the world he is newly encountering, the Fool is oblivious to the dangers around him. The steep cliff is a representation of this. The dog who accompanies him is trying to warn him that danger is immanent, for in his raptures he is oblivious to his mortality. The dog, his animal guide, helps protect him. A budding tree reveals that it is springtime to further emphasize the notion of beginnings and reminding us of the cyclical nature of life. The roots reveal the interwoven foundation which provides us with support. As this is a Celtic influenced deck, it is also a reference to Celtic Knot Design and the pre-Christian worship of trees ,in particular, the Oak, in the British Isles.
On a personal note, this card represents my youth, which was spent travelling with a backpack through an endless stream of adventures and dangers. Somehow I managed to blunder my way through them all without literally falling off the cliff. I chose my son to portray the Fool, as it is now his turn to embark upon the wheel.
The dog's name is Ogre. He once consumed my favourite leather face mask. We had to fill my son's moccasin with cat food in order to to attract Ogre's interest!
