While not being a renowned part of the city, Kappabashi is located in the neighborhood of Tokyo's renowned Sensoji Temple in Asakusa.

This is one charming little grocery store. Sadly, it appears to have closed just recently.
Occupying a prominent position on the junction of Cannock Road and Raynor Road, this is the Co-operative foodstore at Fallings Park as photographed in April 2013. I remember the store going through various guises over the years (Gateway and Somerfield for example), but more recently still Heron Foods can be found here.

It wasn't how I'd planned to spend today but I've cleared and cleaned the pantry. I've dumped expired packets and food that I can't eat and Rik is unlikely to use and I've moved all the foods that I can't eat but Rik can and will onto one shelve and put a sticker on each with 'Rik' written on it.
I still have one shelf and the floor left to do but now it's time to cook dinner.

No. 2 - 5:- Exploring Rochester - Rochester Castle - the necessities of life - the Foodstore
City of Great Expectations - Charles Dickens..
The Foodstore
Seen outside this area:
This area was once the castle food store and storerooms.
Originally you would have been stranding on an earth floor. It would have been very dark here, the only light coming from small ventilation holes as windows as ground level would undermine the castle's defences. The room would have been used to store meats, herbs, spices, wine and vegetables amongst other foods. Weapons and valuable items could also be kept safely under lock and key.
Guide-board.
'Magnificent ruin!...What a study for an antiquarian!'
The impressive Norman castle at Rochester had a humbling effect upon Dickens, reminding him perhaps of his own mortality. In Household Words he wrote: 'I surveyed the massive ruin from the Bridge, and thought what a brief little practical joke I seemed to be, in comparison with the solidarity, stature, strength and length of life.' In Dickens' time the castle looked very different. Houses and workshops filled much of the moat by the cathedral, the keep and towers were festooned with ivy and the waters of the River Medway lapped the base of the walls. - Guidemap

Or to be more precise, half of Heather Road shops - Beauty Salon, Post Office and Bookmakers (closed down). Out of shot to the right the other half of the shops consists of Hairdressers (attached to the Beauty Salon), Newsagent and General Foodstore.
The bookmakers has been closed down and boarded up for about two years.
The Moat, in Chineham, was not a defence work, but a farming use, to keep cows and sheep away from the farmhouse and foodstore.
