Something different for me but still based around light and colour :)
Wish you all a relaxing Sunday, I am off to the parks with the kids, not sure will get much time to relax but the sun is shining so bright in London today :-))
In early August this year we had a sudden explosion (honestly, thousands!) of weevils in the garden. I have no clue where they erupted from, whether they'd all just emerged, or whether they flew in mass; I don't know enough about them. I had hoped to ID them as it might give me a clue, but now I realize what a minefield that is! Anyway, here's one, not so sharp, but I liked the composition as I hadn't spotted the tiny and cute red globular springtail.
I'd be most grateful if anyone knows the ID of the weevil and/or the springtail (thinking possibly Dicyrtoma fusca for the latter).
Some more shots from our birding at the Celery Fields on Friday. Three Blue-winged Teal ducks were floating by close to the trail.
