dublab’s 23rd Anniversary Party is the organization’s annual fundraiser – proceeds from the event go towards the station operation and towards supporting its programming and non-profit mission. As a listener-funded 501 (c) (3) non-profit radio station, dublab has become a cultural institution in Los Angeles, using radio to foster a creative community of music lovers, musicians, and DJs that has expanded to affiliate stations in Japan, Spain, Germany and Brazil. dublab programs go beyond its core radio project with live events such as the Alice Coltrane concert that took place at Grand Performances on August 27 and its signature annual ambient happening Tonalism that took place in July at Descanso Gardens.
This year’s celebration will take place from 6pm to 11pm at 2220 Arts + Archives (2220arts.org) followed by an after party at a secret location that will go from 10pm till late…

Also got my technics headphones hanging on the top of the desk :)
Can't forget Hotrod, my desktop computer. Intel Wolfdale 3.0 ghz OCed @ 3.6 ghz, 4 gb ram, 2x 8800GTs running SLI, FocusRite Saffire 10 out / 4 in firewire sound card, and a custom LED illuminated case :)
Off to the lower right, you can see my storage solution: HP EX 485 NFS server running Windows 2003 (2.5 tb storage capacity with file redundancy) + 2x1 TB external Hard drives.

Dj International records from Chicago, a legend in the world of House Music, known for being one of the first and biggest labels to support and promote this amazing sound, welcomes my new released ¨Cold War¨. Mr. Rocky Jones, CEO and label manager, known for being one of the biggest promoters in the house industry for decades, has decided personally to release my new track and add it to their Illinois based label collection.
Apart form being the first House Music label in Chicago their are responsible that this particular style became huge in Europe in the late 80´s, specially when UK was totally taken by ¨Jack your Body¨ original track by Steve Silk Hurley and Hardfloor charting no.1.
¨Cold War¨ is an underground, deep house single with a dark, spicy spirit. It will be available at the end of August in all the major online stores, including B-liv original mix, a B side version dedicated to Rocky Jones and remixes by two talented producers: rising star Dany Cohiba form Barcelona and Charles Bell from Huston. I just can thank enough god by taking my music threw such amazing paths.

I took a feed from the FOH mixing desk into a Focusrite Saffire firewire audio interface and direct to disc on my Powerbook.
I also routed the signal to a minidisc recorder just in case anything hiccuped with the Powerbook. Belt and braces, me.

Strobist info: first strobe hanging from boom at ceiling height over the mixer with barndoors to reduce light spill on back wall. Second strobe on floor below camera with closed-up barndoors and 5 degree grid to eluminate the DroboPro. Both strobes at minimum power. Two second exposure to capture the lights on the equipment.

The big surprise in addition, is that thanks to an agreement that they have with Abercrombie & Fitch, Gucci and H&M, this release will be playing in these stores in all Europe.
