Wing span 80-100 mm

Spent the night clinging to some orchid roots inside the shade house. With temperature starting to rise these zebra longwings will fly off in search of nectar in the garden. Just before sundown they will return.

Pyrgus malvae - Grizzled Skipper underwing markings.

This Common Darter dragonfly blends in with the Autumnal colours as it soaks up some warmth from the afternoon sunshine.
