After a night of torrential downpours, I found these butterflies clinging on the dead flower stems of the Queen’s Wreath (Petrea volubilis).

Wing span 80-100 mm

 

Spent the night clinging to some orchid roots inside the shade house. With temperature starting to rise these zebra longwings will fly off in search of nectar in the garden. Just before sundown they will return.
