Three stray dogs enjoying the nightlife near Ueno appeared and were approaching rapidly as I stepped onto this sidewalk. Finding them a cool sight – and intrigued by the way the two wingmen shield 'big daddy' from the rain as he goes on schmoozing with his hands in his pockets – I managed to fire off one shot before they glided by. It's times like this that it's fun to have that camera that goes everywhere with you.

At the All-Star break, the Mets were exceeding all expectations with a 46-40 record and were in third place in the National League East just a half game behind the Braves and four and half behind the Nationals. The Mets had defied their critics and energized their fan base.
Unfortunately, following the All-Star break, the Mets have won 11 and lost 28 bring their cumulative record to an under 500 57 and 68.
Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, the Mets some positives from this season including R.A. Dickey is being talked about in conversations concerning the Cy Young Award and JohanSantana recorded the franchise's first no-hitter. And how about 25-year-old prospect, Collin McHugh stunning debut yesterday allowing only 2 hits, no runs and striking out 9 over 7 innings against Colorado Rockies on 8/23/12.
I was getting to the point where I really needed to see some colour in the day. Thank goodness for gorse!
