Played a little ball with Shizandra this morning. I did a little editing to give her tail a little flowing motion. It reminds me of smoke curls!
A tessellation derived from my other model, Woven Rhombi. 4×4 grid units per molecule, or 8×8 if you want to consider a complete hexagonal tile a molecule.
Flow Tessellation is iso-area: when you look at the back side, you see exactly the same pattern, rotated 90 degrees. Due to the arrangement of paper layers, I had to resolve to wet folding to make the model flat and to prevent the layers from unfolding.
This was the first time I folded Biotope paper and I admit I liked it very much. It is thinner than Tant which makes it better suited for models with many layers or a complex layer arrangement like this one. At the same time the paper felt strong enough even for models with lots of precreasing. To the feel, it is softer than many paper I use, but still not too soft as are many handmade papers which look beautiful but are hard to make precise geometric folds with. It’s probably too thin for corrugations, but for most tessellations I think it will behave just as well as it did for this one.

The Guadalquivir river flows through Córdoba, as it does through Seville. A major point in the city is the old Roman bridge which crosses the river. The Romans ruled Andalusia before the Berbers conquered it. It was known as Baetica, the most southern part of what the Romans called Hispania (the Greeks had called this area Iberia). The Roman emperor Hadrian came from Baetica. Seneca (elder and probably younger) came from Córdoba. In modern times Baetica, now called Andalusia, gave birth to the composer Manuel de Falla, the poet Frederíco García Lorca and the painter Pablo Picasso. Texture thanks to Lenabem.

This is a chance my arm shot, I tried to slow my exposure on the parapet of the bridge at Goathland station on the North York Moors railway enough to capture the water over the rocks below.
I thought just a different perspective looking down on a waterfall rather than looking up. I don`t know the name of this stream if indeed it has a name, I cannot find any reference to it at all.
Llyn Ogwen sits just behind this waterfall, surrounded by Snowdonia on one side and the Carneddau mountains on the other, a constant stream of water runs down the mountainside into the lake, causing the endless flow of water. It's beautiful. It's home.
