Flock of sheep (about 150 animals) in the Immerloopark (park, lake and morass) in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

The flock was 21 strong, all of them healthy. Many of them were younger and happy to learn the ways from the older members of the flock.

flamingoes at Kidaka Resort

Waited for the temperature to go higher than -10 degrees C. When it did I went to Saddington Park (near Port Credit) to take this photo of birds (not sure if these are crows). The birds were producing noise/calls.

Almost looking like a scene from the old Hitchcock movie - this was a small part of a huge flock of little corellas that had invaded the gum trees alongside the river in Murchison, Victoria.

A flock of snow geese takes flight under a dramatic sky.

They are regular visitors of my parents's garden and they makes the garden lively with its sound and activities..

The famous Robe Obelisk on the Limestone Coast, South Australia. The cliffs are slowly being eroded away by the relentless waves with the Obelisk being given no more than 30 year until it is swallowed by the ocean.

A flock of about 30 Siskin birds landed on our birch to eat its seeds. Conifer and birch seeds are among Siskins favorite foods.

This is my first Siskin capture.

Small flock of Ring-necked Parakeets were feeding on autumn colourful tree fruits

English colonists in the New world gave the American Robin its name because it reminded them of England’s common robin – both birds have red breasts.

The American Robin is a thrush-sized bird that feeds mostly on the ground. They eat fruit, insects, earthworms, and snails.

American Robins are common winter visitors to Florida. Between October and April you can hear their characteristic chattering vocalizations as they gather in flocks around fruit trees and along roadsides. In spring, most robins migrate north to breed, but a few have recently begun to nest in north and central Florida.

I found this one along Lake Cypress Boat Ramp Road in Osceola County, Florida.

Migrating geese form lines or V's that reminded someone long ago of a skein of yarn—hence, a group of geese in the sky is called a skein. But when a flock of geese is on the ground, it no longer forms a skein—grounded geese mill around gregariously, forming a gaggle.

They flocked together...and in the desolation they flew upon me.

This is my first time to get a photo of a Swainson's even though they are typically found in the West. According to Sibley, this is a dark morph.

In fall, they take off for Argentine wintering grounds—one of the longest migrations of any American raptor—forming flocks of hundreds or thousands as they travel. (Cornell)

Pastures at Fell End near Sedbergh

My father would brand this type of photo a "flock shot", a photograph with multiple points of interest. A few reasons why this one qualifies:

At left is the oldest existing train station in the State of Utah. The Lehi, Utah depot was constructed by the Utah Southern Railway in 1871. Today it serves as a museum of local history.

In front is a Union Pacific Scotchlight station sign, planted here 50+ years ago when Lehi was an integral part of the UP system. Today Lehi is just a turnaround point for a 10-mile branch. At right is a distant red flag that marks the end of serviceable track.

Behind the depot are multiple old buildings from an era when the UP yard along State Street was teaming with business.

UP 2027 is an SD40N, built Union Pacific SD40-2 No. 3283 by EMD in July 1974. Assigned to the LUL41 local on April 9, 2025, the classic EMD has more than 50 years of service on the UP.
